WRI India, an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust, provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. Program Overview for Climate
At WRI India’s Climate, Economics, and Finance (CEF) Program, we focus on integrated solutions that enable a low-carbon transition in India while ensuring that the transition is equitable and just for its people and protects natural resources. We seek to achieve impact at scale through applied research, frameworks, tools, partnerships with key stakeholders, and ground-level implementation.
Position Overview
The CEF program at WRI India seeks a candidate with relevant experience in Program coordination. In this role, you will assist the CEF program in procurement, managing the operational budget, facilitating outreach efforts, and organizing state and national workshops/ events. Additional duties may include facilitating knowledge and communications products and other appropriate duties as assigned.
How will your day unfold?
Program Support and coordination
- Actively contribute to the smooth execution of projects by collaborating with external partners, vendors, and key institutional teams, ensuring alignment with program goals and requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between program teams and internal stakeholders (finance, audit, facilities, HR), facilitating seamless coordination for operational needs.
- Support outreach efforts of the Program communications team
- Provide well-rounded proactive program operations and management support to ensure sound implementation of projects per donor and statutory standards
Event and Meeting Coordination
- Book, organize, and ensure the successful execution of meetings to include venues, facilitators, interpretation services, catering, availability of materials, and any other needed services, as well as complete the necessary contracts and payments in line with WRI guidelines
- Coordinate travel arrangements for participants and guests in keeping with donor requirements and budgets.
- Coordinate participant travel reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation.
- Assist with staff travel arrangements as needed.
- Provide programmatic support for online events (meetings, webinars, brown bags, presentations), including Zoom/Teams administration, participant and attendee tracking, and regular updating of member engagement monitoring systems
Others
- Process programmatic contracts, work orders, and other formal documentation with external vendors as per institutional audit requirements.
- Prepare and maintain programmatic documentation for both internal and external communications.
- Support and coordinate external communications with relevant vendors
- Set up and maintain filing systems and maintain databases, as required
- Provide hands-on support to program managers with a variety of operational tasks, such as maintaining contact lists, organizing meetings, tracking action items, and drafting correspondence to support team collaboration
Requirements and skills that we seek:
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- 4-7 years of experience
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Environment, Natural Resource Economics, Climate Change, Development Studies or related discipline
Salary and Benefits: 1400000-1800000 INR CTC Per annum
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Duration: 1 years as term hire (extendable based on performance and project requirements)
Location: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore
