ZAKKI is a non-profit social civic-tech organization that is committed to building inclusive, integrated communities for marginalized people. Our aim is to improve the well-being of the elderly and people with disabilities. We strive to facilitate the distribution and deployment of donations to help those working in the informal sector to achieve a better livelihood through micro-business assistance and exposure to greater markets. Our online platform serves as an alternative channel for distributing donations to those in need. Our organization is based on voluntary membership and volunteers conduct reports and verifications towards beneficiaries. They also supervise the deployment of help and monitor beneficiary progress towards achieving their livelihoods.

Role Description

This is a volunteer, remote role for a Team Lead - UIUX Designer at ZAKKI. As a Team Lead - UIUX Designer, you will be responsible for managing the design team in creating engaging, intuitive, and accessible user interfaces for ZAKKI's products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and provide customized solutions, and work closely with stakeholder to ensure that designs are implemented as intended. You will also lead, coach, and mentor UI/UX designers to ensure that design standards are met and that the team is aligned with ZAKKI's vision and objectives.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in managing or leading a team of UI/UX designers
• Proficient in creating user interfaces using tools such as Sketch, Figma or Adobe XD
• Experience in designing user experiences for web and mobile products
• Experience in conducting user research, creating personas, and designing user journeys
• Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using industry-standard software
• Experience in working with developers to ensure that designs are implemented as intended
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely with minimum supervision
• Understanding and empathy towards marginalized communities and their needs is a plus
