About the Senior Manager, Analytics position

The Senior Manager, Analytics is a key contributor to how the organization charts its course and understands its impact. This role focuses on transforming complex data into clear, relevant, and actionable insights that inform priorities, guide decisions, and measure outcomes. Partnering with teams and stakeholders across the organization, they manage analytics projects that span everything from analyzing day-to-day product performance to assessing progress towards organizational goals and more. Through this work, the Senior Manager, Analytics brings professionalism, curiosity, a steady and thoughtful approach, and a high standard of excellence. Strengthening the team’s impact, the Senior Manager, Analytics will help evolve the analytics team from a service function into a strategic partner that influences decisions and strengthens results across the organization.

  • Oversee Organization-Wide Impact Measurement: Design, implement, and continuously refine rigorous impact measurement frameworks across multiple communication and programmatic channels to assess effectiveness, support decision-making, and inform strategic direction.
  • Deliver Strategic Insights: Synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights and proactively communicate strategic recommendations to diverse stakeholders, including leadership, board members, funders, and cross-functional internal teams, to support mission-aligned outcomes.
  • Manage High-Impact Data Projects: In close partnership with stakeholders, organize, sequence, and manage large-scale, cross-functional data and analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with established goals and technical standards.
  • Support Team Leadership and Vision: Act as a senior thought partner on the Data Analytics team, helping to shape team strategy, define performance goals, and promote a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Advise Stakeholders: Offer expert guidance on data interpretation, evaluation design, and analytical best practices to empower staff across the organization to make evidence-based decisions.
  • Identify and Address Knowledge Gaps: Conduct needs assessments, identify critical gaps in available data, and develop strategies to fill them through enhanced data collection, integration, or acquisition.

Must haves:

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience leading data infrastructure improvements, analytics initiatives, and strategic projects from inception to delivery. Ability to balance multiple priorities, manage timelines, and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Advanced Data Analysis Skills: Proven experience in data analysis and measurement, with the ability to work with large datasets using SQL to query, manipulate, and extract actionable insights from complex databases. Strong proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries and optimizing for performance.
  • Advanced BI Tool Proficiency: Extensive experience using BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms to create complex, interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations. Ability to leverage these tools to transform raw data into compelling, easy-to-understand business insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Strategic Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated success in presenting strategic recommendations to leadership cross-functional teams, and external partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong experience working in a cross-departmental capacity, collaborating with various teams, such as marketing, product, operations, and leadership, to understand data needs, align on objectives, and drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Advanced Problem-Solving Abilities: A proven track record of identifying data gaps, troubleshooting complex analytical problems, and designing scalable solutions to improve data availability, accuracy, and usability.

Nice to haves:

  • Understanding of data infrastructure, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and tools like dbt to automate, transform, and document data pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, BigQuery)
  • Experience in advocacy, civic engagement, or social impact-focused organizations
