Role Overview
WeVote has an open volunteering position for an Analytics Specialist to help strengthen American Democracy. You are an experienced professional (2–4 years) who can turn noisy cross‑platform campaign data into clear insights and recommendations. You want to work with an excellent team that is driven and nationally recognized. This position is for 2+ hours per week.
What You’ll Do
- Define and maintain our measurement framework and KPIs for nonpartisan voter education and GOTV campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, and other platforms
- Implement and validate tracking (UTM standards, pixels/tags, conversion events, GA4) and ensure data quality via regular QA checks and audits
- Build and maintain source‑of‑truth dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio or similar) and recurring reports covering reach, frequency, CTR, CVR, CPA/CPL, video views, and cost‑per‑outcome
- Analyze performance by audience, creative, placement, device, and geography; surface actionable insights and prioritize opportunities to scale or cut
- Design and evaluate structured experiments (A/B and multivariate), ensure proper test setup and significance checks, and document learnings
- Partner with ad buyers, content, design, and engineering volunteers to translate insights into creative briefs, targeting updates, landing page improvements, and budget reallocations
- Maintain clean data hygiene and taxonomy (campaign naming, UTM parameters, event schemas) to keep reporting consistent and reliable
- Monitor platform policy changes and privacy requirements that affect tracking and attribution; propose compliant alternatives when needed
- Create playbooks, templates, and documentation so additional volunteers can contribute quickly during peak cycles
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in marketing/ad analytics supporting paid media programs
Proficiency with GA4 (events, conversions, exploration reports), Google Tag Manager or equivalent tag tools, and UTM/taxonomy best practices - Comfort with platform analytics/reporting in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, and Reddit Ads; familiarity with YouTube and other channels
- Strong dashboarding and reporting skills (Looker Studio or similar) and advanced spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets/Excel)
- Experience designing and evaluating experiments; practical knowledge of statistical significance, guardrails, and incrementality concepts
- Detail‑oriented with excellent documentation and communication skills; able to turn data into clear, non‑jargon recommendations
- Meticulous about compliance, privacy, and brand safety; working knowledge of nonpartisan 501(c)(3) guidelines is a plus
- A willingness to work with and support other volunteers
- 2+ hours per week during our core team hours M–F 8 a.m. – 6 p.m
- You are currently located in the US and can work one or two hours that overlap with US Pacific Time per week
