About Us

WeVote is a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote nonprofit startup and a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee. WeVote is building a movement of excellent, passionate, part-time volunteers (starting with the founders) who build mobile technologies that will touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. We believe that many voters are busy, distracted, and impatient. We have a goal of providing a positive voting experience that helps people decide how to vote. Join the WeVote Movement

WeVote is seeking a passionate lover of democracy who wishes to use their unique skills in programming on Instagram to help encourage participation in our democracy by increasing voter turnout, candidate/initiative education, and participation in elections. Many see Instagram as a vanity platform, but you know it has the power to achieve great things if used with the right intentions. This is a huge opportunity to use your talents in programming for good - to achieve a higher purpose, leading WeVote’s account(s) to build broader awareness and encourage engagement in the upcoming election cycle, and beyond.

This role’s primary mission is to encourage our followers to share the passion behind WeVote by driving usage of our proprietary platform designed and dedicated to informing and encouraging voters to exercise their most important right - their vote. We are strictly non-partisan, focusing on the importance of spreading verified, factual information as we educate voters and potential voters on their choices and how candidates/initiatives align with every individual’s personal values.

This role reports to the VP, Head of Programming, but provides flexibility and oversight in managing your own unique knowledge, hacks, and perspective on the Instagram platform.

  • Engage with creative team to suggest and optimize new content ideas for Instagram
  • Potentially be a front-facing creator on one of our Instagram channels
  • Collaborate with creative team in developing key moments related to trends and infuse WeVote in the conversation around upcoming electoral contests (primaries, debates, general election, etc)
  • Interface with the Data Analytics team, related to trends, conversions, user growth, engagement, etc
  • Based on quantitative and qualitative analysis, drive programming decisions for our Instagram account(s), making necessary recommendations to consistently improve our platform strategy based on post performance, engagements, etc.

The ideal candidate is obsessed with Instagram, spending several hours a day creating and using the platform. They are ideally a creator themselves, or perhaps create for a media publisher or in a social marketing organization. They have their finger on the pulse of Instagram trends, top creators, and hacks and have successfully built and grown an audience and meaningful engagement themselves, or helped accelerate for other creators/organizations.

Also critical is the necessary interpersonal skills to work within an all-volunteer team who care deeply about Democracy and brings a collaborative, enthusiastic attitude to their volunteer duties.

Who you are: Must haves
