As the Head of Public Relations, you will play a crucial role in enhancing WeVote's public image, promoting our mission, and defining our public facing earned media strategy. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication plans, overseeing media relations, and managing the organization's overall public relations efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communication Planning:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with WeVote's mission and goals.
    • Collaborate with CMO/CCO to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels abd brand alignment.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.
  • Media Relations:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, national, and online media outlets.
    • Draft press releases, op-eds, and other materials to generate positive media coverage.
    • Respond to media inquiries and serve as the organization's spokesperson when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, volunteers, and community members.
    • Develop and implement strategies to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Crisis Communication:
    • Develop crisis communication plans and act as the primary point of contact in times of crisis.
    • Ensure a timely and coordinated response to mitigate any potential reputational risks.
