Since 2006, we have been campaigning in New York to reduce air pollution through engine idling. This journey has led us down many exciting and interesting paths including the release of a movie, a children's book and lobbying with city officials to sign new bills and change laws. As a result of this work, we are now in a position where citizens can complain about idling commercial vehicles and receive a share of the fine. It's a process that is administratively burdensome, but it works and many testers have earned thousands of dollars in fine shares. Not only that, with all the media attention and citizens activism we have noticed a decline in engine idling and an awareness from drivers. We now want to scale this proven process to have an even greater impact.
