Senior Policy Associate (DC)

Study economic and statistical data on issues at the intersection of housing, economic, and environmental justice. Lead project teams, manage team performance, and design and implement strategies. Manage complex budgets and timelines and set plans, priorities, goals and quality control activities for projects. Identify and propose evidence-based policy and program solutions that can simultaneously advance economic prosperity, climate resilience, and equity, and serve as a subject matter expert. Write substantive content for a range of products involving different analytic efforts, including research reports, briefs, blog posts, toolkits, and other policy-related documents. Oversee policy research, including assessing policy proposals' impacts and managing complex methods' application to different policy environments. Design and deliver evidence-informed technical assistance, training, and advisory services to support stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives. Manage relationships with external partners and stakeholders, including funders, local leaders, advocates, and policymakers. Lead the planning and organizing of meetings and events with external stakeholders to share insights, build knowledge, uplift innovations and advance practice. Play a key role in fundraising and business cultivation activities, including leading the development of proposals, responses to solicitations, and conceptualizing new bodies of work that advance evidence-based policy and practice. Manage, coach, guide, and supervise policy and research staff to support their growth and development.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year

Job Requirements:

Master’s degree in public administration or social science-related field and three years of experience as a researcher with experience partnering with state and local agencies to research economic and social policy issues. Must have the ability to analyze large data sets using Python, R, SAS, Stata, and SQL.
