Job Description

This is a remote position.

Join our product team to help us provide free tutoring to 8 million low-income high school students in the U.S by 2030.

UPchieve product managers are both strategic thinkers and hands-on builders. While you'll spend much of your time analyzing experiments and business cases, you'll dust off your design or engineering skills to pinch-hit when it's time to ship.

We're looking for a PM-designer hybrid to help us crack one of the hardest problems in marketplace businesses: building sustainable supply. In this role, you'll develop and test ways to make better use of existing volunteers while exploring new channels for anchor sources of new volunteers, like alumni networks and peer programs.

Given our early stage, you'll shape both our product's direction and team's culture. Think startup energy, nonprofit purpose. Come put your name on every corner of the world's best tutoring platform for low-income students!

This might be the right job for you if...

  • You obsess over our users' needs, and you'd chase our mission elsewhere if not here

  • You're a PM who designs or a designer who spreadsheets. You love getting your hands dirty making real things.

  • You think in complete user experiences, mapping how multiple features work together to drive behavior change and hit ambitious goals

  • You're scrappy. You dig in and figure it out with what you've got.

  • Like in a good game of Risk, you play multiple angles at once and use data, decision trees, and experimentation to know when to commit

What you'll do

  • Deeply understand volunteer motivations through user research and data analysis

  • Understand our supply side KPIs better than anyone else and map out multiple viable product directions to hit our goals

  • Cultivate a portfolio of creative ideas with promising business cases that fit those product directions

  • Gets your hands dirty as a designer, pairing with engineers to prototype, test, and ship those ideas

  • Run and analyze experiments to validate which ideas actually drive your goals

  • Go to market and scale your most successful experiments, leading on design and marketing and helping with user support and staff training

  • Develop partnerships with organizations to create sustainable volunteer pipelines
