Overview:
The Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving the Unlocked Labs’ fundraising efforts by overseeing the management of donor and funding relationships, identifying new funding opportunities, and ensuring the smooth execution of grant applications. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the CRM system (HubSpot), leading fundraising operations, and collaborating with the Executive Directors to manage state and federal funding efforts. The Development Manager will also assist in managing all grant application processes, ensuring compliance and timely submissions. This key requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with excellent writing skills and a passion for the organization’s mission.Responsibilities:
- ***Fundraising Operations Oversee the organization’s CRM system (HubSpot) to maintain a clean, accurate, and up-to-date database, ensuring effective tracking of relationships between contacts, companies, and funding opportunities. Lead the weekly Fundraising Funnel meetings, ensuring data accuracy and tracking all updates in HubSpot. Monitor progress and ensure actionable follow-ups. Proactively lead efforts to research, track, and validate potential funding leads, including foundations, government grants, and other opportunities. Regularly present new funding opportunities to the Executive Directors. Work in partnership with the Operations Manager to develop and implement donor engagement strategies. Assist with outreach, follow-up communications, and relationship-building efforts to enhance donor relations. Partner with the Executive Assistant to manage HubSpot data input and ensure data accuracy, particularly in relation to company and contact association labels, lead tracking, and relationship management. Generate CRM reports and dashboards to provide insights into donor engagement, lead generation, and fundraising progress. Oversee the cultivation and relationship management for key funders and connectors with the Executive Directors, ensuring regular communication and follow-up. ***Grant Writing Assist the Executive Directors with all aspects of the grant application process, including proposal writing, gathering supporting documentation, and submitting applications. Ensure compliance with all grant and funding submission guidelines and manage deadlines through award notification. Oversee the internal tracking system to ensure timely follow-up and submission of required materials. In collaboration with the Operations Manager, track and manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring that all post-award reporting is completed in accordance with the funders’ guidelines. ***Government Funding Oversee ongoing efforts related to state and federal funding sources, ensuring that all prospects are actively pursued, proposals are submitted on time, and relationships with government funders are cultivated. Manage government funding research (including Digital Equity initiatives), identifying key opportunities for the organization to secure funding in this space. Lead research efforts to identify relevant state and federal funding opportunities. Collaborate with Executive Directors and Executive Assistant to ensure that government funding prospects are tracked and moved through the Leads and Deals funnels in HubSpot.
Qualifications:
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to research and identify new funding opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in drafting grant proposals. Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot) and data management, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including donors, funders, and government agencies. High level of initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. ***Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with state and federal government funding sources. Strong analytical skills and ability to generate insights from CRM data to inform fundraising strategies. Experience in research and analysis.
