Company Description

Founded in 2013, Tidepool is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making diabetes data more accessible, actionable, and meaningful for people with diabetes, their care teams, and researchers.

Tidepool operates a connected diabetes data platform used by clinics, health systems, researchers, and device partners nationwide. Tidepool+ delivers enterprise population health capabilities for healthcare providers. Tidepool Loop is an FDA-cleared automated insulin delivery app, now commercially available through Sequel twiist powered by Tidepool.

We operate at the intersection of mission and rigor — combining clinical credibility, regulatory responsibility, and modern SaaS execution to drive real-world impact in diabetes care.

Job Description

The Head of Marketing reports to the CEO and serves as a member of Tidepool’s leadership team, responsible for driving growth and narrative alignment. You will focus on three key objectives:

  • Storytelling & Brand Positioning: Capitalize on Tidepool’s unique position in our market as a nonprofit by leveraging customer case studies, device partnerships, and direct patient stories to generate mission-aligned content that drives both fundraising and customer acquisition.

  • Demand Generation: Build and execute a robust demand generation engine across web, email, digital, and product channels to fuel new customer acquisition, retention, and upsell opportunities.

  • Strategic Alignment & Focus: Prioritize marketing resources in alignment with Product, Sales, Clinic Success, Fundraising, and Regulatory stakeholders to ensure all channels operate at peak efficiency for Tidepool’s mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Demand & Pipeline: Design and execute a full-funnel demand generation strategy for Tidepool+ (SaaS) that translates directly to discovery calls, pipeline growth, and health system adoption.
This role owns marketing’s contribution to pipeline, adoption, and utilization outcomes for Tidepool+.

  • Own the Narrative: Translate complex clinical workflows and product capabilities for Tidepool Loop, Tidepool+, the Tidepool Big Data Donation Project, and other core initiatives into clear, credible messaging that resonates with health systems, donors, and the diabetes community.

  • Enable Sales & Success: Equip the Sales and Clinic Success teams with high-quality, high-impact enablement materials, competitive context, and messaging to close deals and drive utilization.

  • Build for Scale: Design and implement repeatable systems, processes, and operating cadence that allow marketing programs to scale predictably and sustainably.

  • Manage the Marketing Calendar and Roadmap: Maintain a transparent marketing calendar and roadmap; ruthlessly prioritize initiatives that map to measurable business outcomes.

  • Content and Community Engagement: Oversee a robust content strategy, including social media, email marketing, webinars, and events.

  • Ensure Compliance: Partner with Regulatory and Clinical teams to ensure all external messaging is accurate, compliant, and FDA-appropriate.
Exercise strong judgment in balancing clarity, speed, and regulatory responsibility in a regulated healthcare environment.

  • Optimize Performance: Establish specific KPIs for every campaign; use data to iterate on lifecycle emails, webinars, and content journeys to improve conversion rates.

  • Manage the Marketing Team: Lead, develop, and scale an existing marketing team of experienced individual contributors spanning content, communications, and product marketing.
