Academic Success Representative

The Last Mile’s (TLM) Education Department is looking for an Academic Success Representative to help us deliver top-notch support to students in all of TLM’s programs. The Academic Success Representative will respond to student support requests, grade student assignment and project submissions, and join Remote Instruction sessions as part of a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and provide individualized feedback on student work.
• Respond to student inquiries in a timely and meaningful manner.
• Collaborate closely with instructors and other TLM staff to help drive data driven instruction.
• Use feedback from students and classroom facilitators to provide recommendations for curricular updates and changes.
• Support with curriculum review and the creation of new curricular content.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the MERN stack.
• Ability to embrace challenges and adopt new responsibilities with creativity, initiative, and self-direction.
• Ability to adjust explanations of complex technical concepts using multiple analogies or images.
• Demonstrate comfort with adjusting work to evolving priorities in a dynamic work environment.
• Available to attend weekly team and department meetings, either in person or virtually.
• Works well in team and cross-team environments.
• Believe that anyone can learn to code.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching of software engineering concepts, or direct software engineering experience.
• Teaching of entrepreneurial, sales, or project management concepts, or direct experience in these areas.
