This is an opportunity to directly contribute to JED’s mission by ensuring our teams have the robust, efficient, and well-integrated tools they need to succeed. As a Technical Administrator, you will be a cornerstone of our operational effectiveness. This role will be a peer to JED’s current Technical Administrator, with your primary focus being the administration and enhancement of our Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP) instance. Working in close partnership with key stakeholders in our Development and Finance departments, you will help identify, develop, and deploy new business processes and lead technology-focused projects through their full lifecycle. You will also manage the day-to-day configuration, support, and maintenance of our Salesforce environment and help integrate other critical platforms—such as Sage Intacct, Fundraise Up, DonorSearch—into seamless workflows. This position blends the responsibilities of a technical project manager, systems administrator, and Salesforce specialist, offering a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a mission-driven environment

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Administration & Optimization (Primary Focus)
  • Serve as an administrator for JED’s Salesforce NPSP instance, managing user accounts, profiles, page layouts, reports, and dashboards to support daily operations.
  • Customize and configure Salesforce by creating and maintaining custom fields, workflows, and validation rules that align with the evolving needs of our Development and Finance teams.
  • Ensure high levels of data integrity and system reliability through regular audits, data cleanup, and proactive performance monitoring.
  • Manage Salesforce updates and releases, evaluating new features and integrating third-party applications to enhance functionality.
  • Build and maintain insightful reports and dashboards to provide key stakeholders with actionable data on performance metrics and organizational goals.

Technology Project Management & Integration
  • Lead the planning and execution of technology projects—including the rollout of process improvements—from conception through completion.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to align technology projects with strategic priorities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Stay current with emerging digital trends and propose innovative solutions to advance JED's mission and operational effectiveness.

User Training & Support
  • Design and deliver engaging training programs and create clear documentation (user manuals, guides) to drive user adoption and proficiency across all supported platforms.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to all staff, managing an internal ticketing system and holding regular office hours to resolve issues.
  • Act as a key technology partner to all departments, proactively gathering feedback to continuously improve systems, processes, and training materials.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical concepts into understandable updates and reports.
  • Lead cross-departmental meetings to identify operational pain points and collaboratively design technology-based solutions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with JED’s standards.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Required Experience & Skills
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Administrator, with a strong preference for experience with the Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP).
  • Deep proficiency in Salesforce, with a demonstrated ability to handle customizations (workflows, custom fields), configurations, integrations, and data analysis using reports and dashboards.
  • Proven experience in managing technology projects from initiation to completion, including gathering requirements, setting timelines, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving technology landscape and a dynamic organizational environment.
  • A genuine passion for and alignment with JED's mission to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for teens and young adults.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder).
    • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
  • Experience & Familiarity:
    • Direct experience working in a non-profit organization.
    • Experience integrating various technologies to streamline operations, including familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, and SpotDraft.
    • Experience in developing and delivering user training and creating support documentation.
    • A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest technology trends and certifications.

About The Jed Foundation

The Jed Foundation ("JED") is a nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. We’re partnering with high schools and colleges to strengthen their mental health, substance misuse and suicide prevention programs and systems. We’re equipping teens and young adults with the skills and knowledge to help themselves and each other. We’re encouraging community awareness, understanding and action for young adult mental health.
Pay Ranges:
The range listed on this job posting is based on JED's compensation posting ranges. The range(s) are informed by market research conducted across various U.S. regions and are designed to account for geographic differences in compensation. Actual salary will depend on factors such as experience, qualifications, and work location and may not exceed the posted pay ranges.

Location/Travel Information:
This position is primarily hybrid and based out of the New York City Tri-State Area, which supports all of JED’s core services and functions. For roles specifically supporting JED’s Policy & Advocacy team, the position may be based in the Washington, D.C. region. In-person attendance will be required for periodic retreats or business meetings at JED’s central office in NYC or other locations as designated by JED leadership. Additional travel may be required based on team or organizational needs.
