The Project Manager, School Programs and Consulting is a flexible, detail-oriented project professional who supports the successful execution of internal and external projects across the division. This role will work under the direction of the Senior Director, Program Operations and in close partnership with the Senior Clinical Director to ensure timelines, deliverables, and resources are tracked and aligned across multiple workstreams. The Project Manager may be assigned to a variety of efforts, including the rollout of new program offerings, fee-for-service consulting projects, alumni engagement efforts, and postvention response work as needed. This is a collaborative role requiring strong organization, clear communication, a proactive mindset, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Execution Collaborate with project leads to organize, plan, and track deliverables for a wide range of internal and external initiatives. Draft and manage project timelines, work plans, and task tracking systems. Schedule and facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and take clear notes that include action items, follow-ups, and assignments. Contribute to the development of written content including reports, slide decks, presentations, and updates for internal and external audiences. Assist with research, stakeholder mapping, and coordination for new program and partnership development. Support communication and coordination across teams and functions, including collaboration with other Project Managers across JED. Consulting & Postvention Support Serve as the dedicated project manager for consulting and postvention projects led by JED’s Senior Clinical Director. Help scope new projects and proposals, draft or edit budgets, and track proposal submissions and deadlines. Track project status, deliverables, timelines, and budgets for fee-for-service projects, ensuring accountability to both internal standards and client expectations. Coordinate across teams (Clinical, Legal, Operations, Development) to ensure that the Senior Clinical Director’s consulting projects are staffed and resourced appropriately. Grants and Development Support Provide support on grant and proposal submissions related to assigned projects. Track grant deliverables and reporting timelines and contribute to progress updates, metrics, and written submissions. Other Duties Support cross-functional efforts to roll out new programmatic offerings (e.g., boarding school program, alumni engagement models). Assist in the design and implementation of project tracking systems and knowledge management tools. Support special events and convenings as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Psychology, Education, Health Systems, Government, or a related field. Minimum of two years of professional experience in project coordination, public health, education, nonprofit, or consulting settings. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft professional materials and take clear, action-oriented meeting notes. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, while staying well-coordinated with colleagues across teams and time zones. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project/task management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, or equivalent). A passion for JED’s mission and a desire to make an impact on the mental health of youth and young adults. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in or with K-12 schools, higher education institutions, or health systems. Familiarity with project budgets, scopes of work, and timelines, particularly in consulting or fee-for-service contexts. Experience contributing to grant writing or grant management processes. Knowledge of youth mental health, suicide prevention, or public health systems. Experience working with or supporting subject matter experts in a nonprofit or education setting. Success Metrics Key performance indicators will be developed in collaboration with the CEO and may include: Increased awareness about and demand for JED’s programs and services among key audiences. Increased awareness and positive audience sentiment about JED. Growth in digital engagement (website traffic, social media, email performance). Successful execution of integrated campaigns that drive program engagement and donor interest. Expanded earned media coverage and visibility in key channels. Strong brand consistency and message alignment across all platforms. Improved SEO performance and overall digital impact. Compelling storytelling that supports programmatic and fundraising goals. High internal satisfaction with marketing and communications support. Effective budget management and vendor performance. Development and retention of a high-performing, collaborative team.

The Jed Foundation ("JED") is a nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. We’re partnering with high schools and colleges to strengthen their mental health, substance misuse and suicide prevention programs and systems. - Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds for conference booth setup, promotional materials, or event-related tasks.
- Flexibility to adjust to different work environments, including home offices, shared workspaces, and on-site event locations.

Pay Ranges:
The range listed on this job posting is based on JED's compensation posting ranges. Salaries may be higher or lower depending on experience and geographic location. Please note that this position is largely HYBRID and based out of the NYS Tri-State Area only. The role will require retreat/business meetings at JED’s central office in NYC or other locations as designated by JED leadership. Additional travel may be required.
