We are a non-profit 501c3 with the mission of ensuring all the world’s key decision makers account for natural capital. The Earth Genome will be an easy-to-use, inexpensive, scientifically credible, continuously updated source, or platform, for global information on natural resources coupled with powerful and relevant decision-support tools related to planetary resilience and human well-being. The platform, engaged partners, and applications (“apps”) will exponentially lower the cost and time to analyze data and translate it into insights that decision-makers can use. The platform will be driven by an in-depth understanding of end-user needs and the tools that are required to create changed decisions. We believe the actionable insights about natural capital that will result will be as vital to making informed business, policy, and investment decisions as financial capital is today. The initial focus of The Earth Genome will be on water and food, especially as it relates to nature-based solutions.
