About Tarjimly: Tarjimly is a 501c3 nonprofit established in 2017 with a mission to eliminate language barriers for refugees, immigrants, and humanitarians. We accomplish this through our Tarjimly mobile app, connecting individuals with a vast network of 50,000+ volunteer translators for on-demand language support. Our team is global, passionate, and operates entirely remotely, dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of those we serve.
Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance and Human Resources Manager to oversee our organization's financial and HR operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing Tarjimly's finances, including audits, payments, budget updates, and managing subscriptions, as well as handling HR responsibilities like managing staff leave, contract renewal, and reimbursements. This position requires a candidate who is adept in primarily finance, but also Human Resources, capable of navigating the unique challenges of a global nonprofit environment.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Prepare and present regular financial updates to the management team.
Coordinate and assist with the annual audit process.
Manage payments and grants, including those to team members and translators.
Handle subscriptions, invoicing, and reimbursements.
Maintain accurate financial records and compliance with financial regulations.
Human Resources:
Manage HR-related documentation and compliance with employment laws.
Oversee the tracking of employee leaves, including vacation and sick days.
Facilitate the recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
Address staff inquiries related to HR matters.
Implement and maintain HR policies in line with organizational values.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience in financial management and human resources within a nonprofit setting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance.
Knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in accounting software, ideally Quickbooks, and MS Office.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
Commitment to Tarjimly’s mission and values.
Passionate about humanitarian efforts, particularly in addressing language barriers.
Employment Details:
Full-time remote position.
Flexible hours with responsiveness to messages and emails during EST working hours.
Mandatory Team Meetings: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11am EST.
Salary range: Commensurate with experience and location.
Benefits include 21 days PTO/year.
