Focus-alleviate HYGIENE POVERTY.IT Infrastructure - Convert a Microsoft Access Application to Run on Cloudways Web & Database ServerWe need a developer(s) that can convert a current Microsoft Access application to run on our Cloudways web and database server, add more security, eliminate ODBC, utilize a Microservices Architecture, and create a test environment with a migration process to production. The Access application has approximately 80 tables and 80 forms with about 3k lines of Visual Basic SQL and MYSQL stored procedures and functions. The data is back-ended in the Cloudways server in the MYSQL database via ODBC. The forms are grouped by Client Information and Administrative Tasks.Data is looked up, edited, and saved on the Cloudways server and manipulated via VB & SQL code in Stored Procedures on the Cloudways server. There is currently a WordPress website with two forms that clients can use to request products. This data is stored on the Cloudways server and has to be migrated to our SQL database. The MS Access form uses quite a few combo boxes, and the data displayed is data from tables in the SQL database that is maintained via Administrative forms in the database, and we would like to have the same happen in the web application.Currently, the MS Access process has a crude login process, and we wish to use secured login to the web application. There will be 3 types of access to the application (Client via QR code, Volunteer, and Administrator via URL), and depending on who is logging in, the forms and functions will be different. Our goal: to alleviate the shame and desperation that often accompanies Hygiene Poverty. Our mission: to advance the lives of others. Since 2017 our Healthy Essentials Pantry is fulfilling both, having already served over 3,222 individuals and families with over 30,943 personal care and household cleaning products. The programs most commonly used by low-wage earners to help pay at the grocery store—SNAP and WIC—do not cover hygiene supplies, so much is unknown about how hygiene poverty affects our neighbors because almost no one is researching it. People need to get past the giggles and the silence and instead start talking, asking questions, and searching for solutions. Our Healthy Essentials Pantry is one of those solutions. Our need came about when after many hours of database design and data entry, we found only one person could utilize the database at a time, and the data had to be downloaded to the individual computer and then uploaded again into a Google Drive folder for others to access. The accessibility of the data into this database will allow us to:
- Track how we are serving our client's needs
- Create reports for our current and future donors and grantors pertaining to our clients’ demographics, the areas we serve, the number of clients served, and items served.
- Inventory maintenance
