About This OrganizationAfter Cancer’s mission is that all facilities who provide services for cancer patients, address the sexual health impact of cancer or its treatment, as a standard of care, with all their patients. The All of Me Implementation Framework of Normalizing the Conversation, Setting Expectations, and Referring Timely aims to close the communication gap between healthcare professionals and their patients regarding the topic of sexual health. Through educational resources, courses, and programs, along with an awareness campaign, After Cancer’s goal is to improve the quality of life, sexual health agency, and sexual health for all people impacted by cancer.Copy writing/editing - Copywriting for Marketing CampaignAs a new nonprofit, I am going through a rebranding on the website, scheduled to be completed by the end of May. We provide education to healthcare professionals in the oncology community/the patient care team members-education on how to address sexual health in cancer care. Our education bridges the communication gap between oncology providers and patients as it relates to sexual health. There Are a Few Specific Items I Need Help WithWe have a new marketing video and one-pager and now need to have copy written for a marketing campaign through email and social media.
  • The announcement of the formation of After Cancer as a non-profit organization
  • A message for conference coordinators/event planners to hire me to speak at both the provider and patients conferences nationally
  • A message to hospital organizations, cancer centers, and oncology clinics about the educational services we have for their staff
  • A fundraising message for donations
More than 50% of cancer survivors experience sexual health side effects from their treatment. Less than 20% are addressed by their providers, and far fewer are ever resolved. This education was developed with the collaboration of several clinicians in this field over the period of 2015-2023. I am a former patient, life coach, and patient advocate and know personally the impact of sexual health issues on an intimate relationship. This is a unique offering as this isn't taught in med school or nursing school, and yet, there is an expectation that providers should be normalizing the conversation, setting patient expectations, and referring patients timely when needed. There is national guidance on this topic from NCCN and ASCO, yet it isn't easy for healthcare professionals without the training. We will use incoming funds to create an e-learning program so this education will be accessible on-demand, affordable, and scalable for our organization. Our mission is that all facilities treating patients impacted by cancer will screen for sexual health side effects from cancer treatment as a standard of care. The work of After Cancer has gained national attention through the Association of Community Cancer Centers and the American Cancer Society. We will have the rebranded website up within 3 weeks. We have a promotional video and a marketing one-pager outlining our services. We have implemented software on the website to accept donations. We have a contact list of over 1000 names of people who know this work in one form or another, and we are continuing to grow our database of contacts. We have formed a thought leader group to help advise on moving this work forward. We have prerecorded videos and presentations from conferences and other pilot programs that highlight the professionalism of our brand. We are partnering with a local University's Communication nonprofit certification class/students in August to continue our fundraising efforts through a marketing campaign on social media and through email. This project can be done remotely.
