About TalkingPoints

TalkingPoints is an award-winning education technology non-profit organization with the mission to unlock the potential of low-income, underserved families to support their children’s learning by partnering with their children’s schools. We’re building a one-of-a-kind product in the market, a multilingual family engagement platform that connects families and teachers using human and artificial intelligence powered, two-way translated messages and personalized supports — eliminating language, time limitations, and know-how as barriers to school/family connection.

Millions of teachers and families are using TalkingPoints in their classrooms, schools and districts across the U.S. TalkingPoints works with key school district partners such as Seattle Public Schools, Boston Public Schools, Buffalo Public School, Wake County and NYC DOE. We have won awards from NYU, MIT, Google, Forbes and are backed by Google, Eric Schmidt, AT&T, Cisco, and Stanford University to name a few.

TalkingPoints is at a critical inflection point in the organization's growth. We continue to see exponential growth in both our user base and our own internal structure. It's an important time to join our team and build on our momentum and ability to support students and families during this critical time in which education equity gaps are more concerning than ever. Diversity: we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it!

The opportunity

As TalkingPoints continues to evolve, so does the complexity of our integrations with schools and districts. We’re hiring a Support Integrations Specialist to help our Support team confidently handle integration and data-adjacent questions as we scale. This role reports to the Support Team Manager and offers a unique opportunity to combine technical problem-solving with real operational impact across the organization.

In this role, you’ll be the go-to integration expert within the Support team, digging into data flows, troubleshooting student information systems (SIS)-related issues, and translating technical details into clear, actionable guidance for both internal teammates and external partners. You’ll work closely with partner-facing teams to improve workflows, reduce friction, and continuously elevate the partner experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Use SQL and other data tools to query, analyze, and validate data flows, identifying mismatches, incomplete records, or sync errors before escalation.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of SIS used in U.S. schools and districts, including common data structures, sync patterns, and integration behaviors.
  • Apply advanced technical troubleshooting to quickly identify the root cause of data or syncing issues, replicating district or IT admin perspectives when diagnosing problems.
  • Analyze large data sets to uncover recurring integration issues, data inconsistencies, or process bottlenecks affecting partner experience.
  • Serve as the Support Team’s internal integration expert, acting as the final escalation point on the Support Team for data- and integration-related partner issues.
  • Develop and maintain Support-facing documentation that translates technical integration processes into clear, usable troubleshooting guidance for Support team members in collaboration with the Data Implementations team.
  • Partner with the Support Manager to identify workflow improvements and surface key insights that strengthen Support efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay informed about new technologies, SIS updates, and data standards relevant to TalkingPoints integrations (knowledge of Cuelang or similar languages is a plus).

Who You Are

You’re someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technical problem-solving, support operations, and partner experience. You’re curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable digging into complex systems, and you care about making those systems easier for others to understand and use.

  • You have 2+ years of experience in technical support, support operations, data support, integrations, or equivalent hands-on experience solving technical problems.
  • You’re comfortable working with data and systems, including querying or validating data (ex., using SQL or similar tools) to investigate issues and confirm root causes.
  • You have experience troubleshooting SIS-related or integration-adjacent issues, and you’re excited to deepen your expertise by digging into technical details.
  • You’re skilled at breaking down complex technical concepts and translating them into clear, actionable guidance for both internal teammates and external partners.
  • You’re organized and analytical, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and recurring issues and turn them into thoughtful process improvements.
  • You enjoy creating and maintaining documentation, such as playbooks or troubleshooting guides, that help teams work more efficiently and consistently.
  • You’re comfortable working in environments with changing priorities, including high-volume periods like back-to-school, and can balance technical accuracy with clear, timely communication.
