UI/UX Designer
Design
Indonesia
Bandung, Indonesia · Full-Time
About the Role
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who is creative, analytical, and obsessed with user-centered digital experiences. You’ll own the design intent behind our products — the research, the flows, the interfaces — and hand it off as clear, implementation-ready work that our engineering team (working with AI coding tools) can build accurately and fast.
That makes your role pivotal: you set the standard for what “good” looks like, and you’re the one who checks that what actually ships matches it. We value creativity, adaptability, and a solutions-driven mindset. If you thrive on understanding user journeys, designing intuitive interfaces, and turning complex challenges into elegant solutions, this is your chance to design experiences that change lives.
Before You Apply
This role is not routine, cosmetic, or heavily guided. You’ll translate complex requirements into intuitive, user-centered experiences that are both functional and visually compelling — and you’ll deliver them as production-ready designs with little to no revision, even under tight timelines or shifting feedback. Because much of our build happens fast and with AI assistance, the precision of your design files and the clarity of your handoff directly determine the quality of what users get.
You must be able to balance creativity with precision, advocate hard for the end user, and take full ownership of your work. If you’re seeking a role that will stretch your design skills, sharpen your problem-solving instincts, and accelerate your growth — and you’re prepared to meet high expectations — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll design and deliver user-centered experiences across Solve Education!’s products, working closely with program, product, and engineering teams to create interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and impactful.
Design & User Experience
- Design intuitive, engaging, and responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to drive design decisions with evidence, not guesswork.
- Translate user needs and program requirements into wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Build and maintain a consistent design system in Figma — components, variables, and patterns — so design stays coherent and scalable as the team ships quickly.
Problem-Solving & Solutioning
- Collaborate with program, product, and engineering teams to define problems and design the right solutions.
- Apply design thinking to address real educational challenges through digital platforms.
- Simplify complex workflows and make user journeys seamless.
- Be the voice of the end user in every product discussion and decision.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Produce clean, spec-grade Figma handoffs (Dev Mode, clear states, annotations) that engineers — and the AI tools they work with — can implement exactly as intended.
- Review implemented interfaces against your designs and flag where the build drifts from intent, accessibility, or UX quality.
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and fold feedback in effectively.
- Maintain organised design documentation for team knowledge-sharing, and keep refining solutions based on data and feedback.
What We’re Looking For
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communication, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Experience: 2+ years of proven UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio of user-centered work across web and mobile, including at least 1 year working primarily in Figma. Experience in agile environments alongside product and engineering teams.
Technical Skills:
- Figma is our tool — we expect real fluency: components, auto-layout, variables, prototyping, and Dev Mode handoff. (We standardize on Figma; deep proficiency here matters more to us than breadth across many tools.)
- Strong grasp of user research, usability testing, and design thinking methodologies.
- Ability to design responsive, accessible (WCAG-aware), and genuinely user-friendly interfaces.
- Excellent visual design and prototyping skills, with attention to detail that holds up at implementation.
Core Competencies: Strong communication skills to present and justify design decisions, sound design judgment, ability to work independently, ownership of outcomes, and comfort collaborating in cross-functional, culturally diverse teams.
Location & Availability: Based in Bandung or willing to relocate.
Bonus (Nice to Have): Familiarity with front-end concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for sharper collaboration with engineers. Experience designing for education or social-impact sectors. Interest in — or hands-on experience with — using AI and emerging tools within the design workflow.
Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a team with a bold mission to transform education through technology and design — and you’ll be doing it on a team that moves fast and uses modern tools to multiply its impact. We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect creativity, empathy, and ownership. If you’re looking for routine graphic-design tasks, this may not be the right fit. But if you’re ready to design experiences that empower learners and create meaningful impact — we’d love to hear from you.
