About Schoolhouse

Schoolhouse.world is a non-profit startup founded by Sal Khan that is scaling free, peer-to-peer tutoring to students across the world. Leveraging the power of teaching as a form of learning, we have already reached over 100K learners from 150+ countries, with plans to grow the platform to millions.

Our team has a mission to explore the important role of human connection in an educational landscape that’s being rapidly disrupted by AI, and discover new models where the two can work hand-in-hand.

About the Vision

Role Description

We’re looking for a College Partnerships Manager who’s passionate about expanding access to tutoring and making the college admissions process more equitable for all students. Today, over 50 universities recognize the Schoolhouse portfolio as a meaningful part of a student’s application, giving those without access to key math and science courses a new pathway to higher education. In this role, you'll help grow that list and explore new ways the portfolio can be recognized (think: college credit, scholarships, and more), creating even more opportunities for our amazing peer tutors.

About the role:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for our college partners, finding ways to make the Schoolhouse portfolio even more useful for them and coordinate creative opportunities for partners to support Schoolhouse students as they transition to college.

  • Identify and engage with prospective colleges, build relationships with higher ed networks (Colleges That Change Lives, CACHET, etc), and connect new and existing partners with a range of Schoolhouse programs, including portfolio acceptance, College Admissions Workshops, SAT Bootcamp, and Dialogues.

  • Support college partners in seamlessly integrating Schoolhouse portfolios and programs into their enrollment processes and collaborate with them to explore new ways the portfolio can be used, like for college credit, scholarships, or course placement.

  • Lead our partnership with the STARS College Network, acting as the primary point of contact and coordinating collaborative efforts to expand educational opportunities for rural and other underserved students.

  • Connect with Schoolhouse students to understand how they are building their portfolios, and work with the Schoolhouse product team to encourage more students to submit their portfolios to college partners.

  • Willing to invest ~10 hours per week in this part-time role.

About you:

  • Experience working in college and university admissions and enrollment management, college counseling, or higher education enrollment management sales preferred.

  • Experience in partnerships, business development, or sales; ability to clearly convey an exciting value proposition to external stakeholders based on their needs.

  • Exceptional communication skills and a strong bias towards action.

  • An interest in problem solving; you approach problems like a puzzle, and communicate the solution with enthusiasm and clarity.

  • You embrace the Schoolhouse culture of operating with purpose and taking an unusual amount of responsibility in your work.

  • You are passionate about education—both the teaching of our learners and the growth of our tutors.

What we offer:

  • An opportunity to work with and learn from a very talented team.

  • A rewarding and important role in a small, mission-oriented startup leading a movement in peer tutoring.

  • A flexible and remote work environment.
