Company overview: Reboot Rx is the Boston-based nonprofit startup dedicated to fast-tracking the development of affordable cancer treatments using FDA-approved generic drugs (rebootrx.org). Our proprietary AI technology quickly sifts through large amounts of data to help us find the most promising generic drugs to repurpose for treating cancer. By focusing on low-cost drugs that already have significant evidence from clinical trials for cancer treatment, we can impact the lives of patients faster than traditional biopharma companies. We advance our top drugs into the standard of care through innovative partnerships and policy development. The first repurposed generic drug we are launching is for prostate cancer, and we are now scaling our approach to other cancer types.
Position description: The VP of Commercialization and Patient Impact will be a key leader reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and responsible for launching and driving the adoption of repurposed drugs to impact the standard of care for cancer patients. They will provide strategic direction for commercialization of new repurposed treatment options as well as lead tactical development and implementation in the market. This person will oversee our first product launch including building capabilities and processes to enable subsequent product launches. The VP of Commercialization and Patient Impact will work directly with key stakeholder groups including providers, patients, and payers. Internally, this role will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and other members of the highly collaborative Reboot Rx team. The individual must be able to thrive in a small and growing, mission-driven nonprofit startup and will be expected to be a flexible and hands-on contributor. This role includes significant opportunities to shape the trajectory of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Guide development of our go-to-market strategy and launch plans for repurposed generic drugs across key stakeholder groups including providers, patients, and payers
- Develop annual brand plans for each of our products incorporating key stakeholder groups
- Provide input on our pipeline strategy and portfolio prioritization for future launches
Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop messaging, positioning, targeting, and key tactics to change the standard of care, such as healthcare provider education, patient education, payer value messaging, digital campaigns, and technology solutions
- Establish methods to seek and incorporate market insights from primary and secondary data
- Allocate company resources to ensure high impact and measure the impact of tactics where appropriate
- Work with legal, regulatory, and medical advisors to ensure compliance, integrity, and accuracy
- Engage with hospitals, practices, and providers, including individual outreach, conferences, and digital channels
- Engage with patient advocacy groups and patients through digital channels
- Engage with payers through direct interactions and other forums
- Provide a value-added customer experience while ensuring compliance in all of our plans, tactics, and stakeholder outreach
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in changing the standard of care
- Pharmaceutical commercial experience or working at a health system or patient advocacy organization to change the standard of care is preferred
- Understanding of oncology, drug development, and how the standard of care for cancer treatment is established and evolves with new treatment options
- Hands-on experience successfully building and managing teams in a small organization and supporting the professional development of staff
- Ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally to the organization
- Strong team player and interpersonal skills with an open mind and positive attitude
- Experience or keen interest in working at an innovative nonprofit startup with the flexibility and adaptability needed to achieve the organization’s goals
- Demonstrated passion for and commitment to Reboot Rx’s mission, and a strong interest in being an advocate for generic drug repurposing

Details: This is a remote, full-time role. While Reboot Rx operates during typical Eastern Time work hours, the individual can live anywhere within the U.S. Benefits include healthcare reimbursement, an accommodating work schedule, unlimited paid time off (PTO) plus 14 company-wide holidays, and an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan with Roth options.
