This is currently a volunteer position, but a stipend may be offered after two months depending on funding availability.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in identifying and securing media and speaking opportunities, as well as outreach partnerships to promote our mission and programs. If you have a knack for storytelling, strong networking skills, and experience in PR or communications, we’d love to hear from you!

- Giving people the words - Through real stories, community dialogues, and workshops, we help people find the vocabulary to talk about mental health.
- Changing the conversation - Making mental health discussions normal, not shameful, by fostering open conversations with culturally aware experts.
- Providing tools to overcome barriers - Helping shift mindsets so support is sought sooner rather than later.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pitch speaking engagements, panel discussions, media opportunities, and outreach partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media contacts, and event organizers.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and outreach emails.
- Monitor media coverage and track engagement from outreach efforts.
- Work closely with the Rcoz team to align PR efforts with ongoing campaigns and events.
- Previous experience in PR, communications, journalism, or media relations.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in pitching and securing media or speaking engagements.
- Passion for mental health awareness and South Asian communities is a plus.
- Availability between 10 AM - 3 PM PT on weekdays.
- Hybrid role - occasional in-person meetings/events in the Bay Area.
- References required before starting.
