Position summary:

The Data Management and Intelligence department is paving the way for enabling data-based decisions by focusing on the delivery of scale-able data products to the market, supporting internal decision-making by unlocking the value of data, and creating a solid data foundation on which we can continue to build out our data offering.

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Lead Data Analyst to manage and mentor a team of analysts, oversee projects, and deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions. In this role, you will collaborate across teams, ensure the effective delivery of analytics initiatives, and foster improvement and professional growth within your team. Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 Data Analysts, ensuring the successful delivery of projects for internal and external stakeholders. Foster an environment of continuous development and professional growth through regular feedback, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Project Management & Delivery: Effectively coordinate and balance the team’s workload. Ensure proper project management of data analytics initiatives, prioritizing tasks, driving timely delivery, and aligning outcomes with business objectives.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their data needs, provide actionable insights, and drive the integration of data into business processes. Work closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, GIS, and Product teams to ensure the alignment and integration of analytics efforts with broader data strategies.
  • Data Visualization and Reporting: Develop clear and impactful data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in data analysis, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Data Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies, regulations, and ethical standards to safeguard data privacy and security.


    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Proven ability (5+ years) in data analytics or a related field, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
    • Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python, R, and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of statistical methods.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of data governance principles, data privacy regulations, and ethical considerations in data analysis.


    Preferred Skills:

    • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and applications.
    • Knowledge of global commodity supply chains and their sustainability requirements.
    • Experience working with voluntary standards within the agriculture or forestry sectors.

    Job Level: 3

    Salary: Commensurate with experience
