POSITION SUMMARY:

Rainforest Alliance Indonesia is recruiting a Senior Associate for Communication as the main focal point of contact for the Rainforest Alliance Indonesia Impact Program Portfolio to meet with country communication needs. The position holder is responsible for coordinating and driving the development of country communication strategy as well as providing strong support to programs and/or project in strategizing and developing the communication materials following the Rainforest Alliance Communication procedures and policies.

The Senior Associate is responsible to localized communication with stakeholder group in Indonesia – helping to build awareness and understanding of the Rainforest Alliance works. This position holder also needs to be in close coordination with both the Rainforest Alliance regional and global communication team members.

The position holders also responsible as the main contact of the Rainforest Alliance Indonesia for media and journalist engagement as well as actively share the Rainforest Alliance Indonesia initiatives to support Rainforest Alliance global mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and advice the overall implementation of communication strategy for Impact Program Portfolio in Indonesia;
  • Tailor communication materials about the Rainforest Alliance Indonesia’s impact program for country, regional, and global audiences and ensure the communication material (both written and visual) is effective, aligns with the Rainforest Alliance’s global brand and communication guidelines, and the impacts are well-captured and well-communicated;
  • In close coordination with Communication Manager, APAC to Identifies, develop and use Rainforest Alliance Indonesia communication channels both digital and off-line – that includes building close engagement with reputable media, journalists as well as Indonesia sustainability influencers;
  • Supports the Rainforest Alliance Indonesia team to proactively produce the communication materials related to Rainforest Alliance Indonesia’s impact programs and communicate with key stakeholders to develop an understanding of these works;
  • Coordinate review of internal and external communication about the impact programs with relevant internal stakeholders and external partners;
  • Coordinate development of creative graphics and content about the impact programs suitable for social media such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc., based on requirements of the program/project and its partners.
  • Actively support and participate in program/project communication components;
  • Ensure the incoming inquiries related to communication are well-handled and forwarded to the relevant team members (if needed);
  • Represent the Rainforest Alliance Indonesia as needed in meetings/events with the impact program stakeholders to cover the communication relevant aspects;
  • In-close coordination with the Country Director, Program/Project Managers as well as regional and global communication team members.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Natural Resources Management or other relevant field;
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in communication or marketing – experience in working with International Organization in the area of promoting sustainable commodity practice (experience in working on sustainable consumption and production of commodity is favourable);
  • Demonstrated success in planning, developing and implementing the communication strategy and campaign (for both digital and offline);
  • Superior in writing, editing and communication skills, with an ability to convey the complex and technical subject matter clearly and concisely. Portfolio of quality written work, showing both creative and technical writing;
  • Strong network to national media and journalist is desirable;
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals;
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia;
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to environmental issues and sustainability practices;
  • Experience in a not-for-profit and international environment preferred;
  • Ability to travel to the project site as and when required up to 30% per year.
