POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Payroll Officer Europe you will handle every aspect of the payroll processes, while working closely with staff to ensure their needs are met. The People Operations team is diverse and multicultural, with different educational and professional backgrounds, driving operational excellence and contributing to a great employee experience. We are seeking a Payroll Officer who is not only resilient and adaptable in dynamic environments but also demonstrates initiative, thinks creatively, and has a strong solution-oriented attitude.

Under the supervision of the HR Manager Europe, the Payroll Officer will be accountable for a broad range of HR tasks related to remuneration, and benefits. The Payroll Officer, along with the HR Generalist also maintains oversight of personnel file archiving, ensures compliance with both HR-related internal rules and national legislation, and handles information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for all staff in Europe.

You will also have the chance to contribute to impactful global projects while working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, and you will play a key role in upholding things we vale through your contributions to payroll management, data integrity, and process improvement.

To succeed in this role, candidates must be resilient to change, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and have a solid grounding in European HR and Payroll operations. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for building trust-based partnerships with employees and managers across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Management & Benefits Administration:

  • Process and handle monthly payroll for the Netherlands and support payroll activities for other EU countries, in collaboration with external providers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate salary payments, adhering to local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Administer pensions, insurance schemes, and other employee benefits, ensuring accurate processing and employee support.
  • Liaise with providers to handle employee queries and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support Global Projects


Data Integrity & Compliance:

  • Handle payroll-related data, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Generate payroll reports and analyses as required for HR and Finance teams.
  • Stay updated on Dutch and EU payroll and tax regulations, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll processes.


Collaboration and Process Improvement:

  • Act as a point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees and managers.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Support with any other HR tasks in the team

Key Qualifications:

  • Completed relevant education in the field.
  • Proven experience (3 years’) in payroll management, with a strong understanding of Dutch payroll systems and regulations; experience with EU payroll is a plus.
  • Familiarity with pensions and employee benefits administration.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (Dutch is a strong plus).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and tax regulations in the Netherlands; understanding of EU regulations is advantageous.
  • Proactive, self-starter attitude with strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively outside the box
  • Experience in an international environment is required.

Job Level: 4

Salary: Commensurate with experience
