POSITION SUMMARY:

At the Rainforest Alliance we are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to ensure the Rainforest Alliance continues to be the alliance partner of choice for companies to invest in net-positive impact in their supply chains. This role will maintain and activate relationships with existing corporate partners with pro-active outreach and responding to customer needs.

Rainforest Alliance has recently set its ambitious 2023-2030 strategy to further strengthen our organizational impact. We want to activate market push/pull, producer impact, investment mobilization and citizen activation to create new value with speed and scale and accelerate our mission. As a critical part of implementing this strategy, the Key Account Management team will strengthen our position as a trusted and highly valued partner for our key company partners.

The Key Account Management team reports into the Director Corporate Engagement & Partnerships in the region. Corporate Engagement & Partnerships is part of the broader Marketing and Communications department portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and grow key accounts in the North America market; to ensure year on year revenue growth in the region, manage ongoing relationships and look for, and secure, opportunities for growth;
  • In coordination with the Team Lead Key Account Management North America, set and work towards the sales strategy for both existing key accounts, and potential new accounts
  • Developing account plans and seeking opportunities to advance existing key accounts commitments with RA
  • Foster and develop new accounts in the region through developing suitable tailored sales plans.
  • Act as RA representative for account queries amongst existing accounts in the region, resolving issues using internal expertise.
  • Set clear objectives for account interactions; make suitable presentations to the customer; ask relevant questions to evaluate the customer's level of interest and identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation;
  • In coordination with the Team Lead Key Account Management, handle contractual terms and close deals that meet the customer's mid- to long-term needs, working closely with legal and compliance;
  • Responsible to track implementation of offering at customer to ensure needs are met and use feedback from customers and internal processes to continuously improve our account management program, offerings and internal processes;
  • Establish performance metrics and regularly measure progress against them using the organisation CRM system. Use feedback from customers and internal processes to continuously improve our account management program;
  • Act as one of the subject matter experts (“SME”) of accounts in the North America market. Build an established personal network and authority internally/externally within the country.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g. global programs, marketing & comms) to best serve our customers;
  • Follow policies and procedures, e.g. customer relationship management system;
  • Adapt to changing market conditions, customer needs, and competitor threats;
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Proven experience (6-7 years’) with sales in B2B environment at mid-senior level, relationship building, corporate affairs or marketing;
  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economy, or another relevant discipline;
  • Track record in growing, nurturing and developing accounts, stakeholder management and representing an organization in a multi-stakeholder environment;
  • Knowledge of the corporate ESG investment space;
  • Knowledge and understanding of voluntary certification programs;
  • Deep knowledge and subject matter expertise of the North America market. Consistent track record of authority in the subject matter (published articles; speaking at events etc.)
  • Key competencies: an eye for business, negotiation, strong interpersonal skills, persuasion, adaptability, critical and reflective thinking, public speaking, resourcefulness, relationship builder based on trust, empathy and openness, and strong organizational skills to lead multiple priorities in a time critical manner;
  • Experience with CRM software and account management systems;
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, written and verbal proficiency in English is required;
  • Ability to travel.


Job level: 3A

Salary: For USA based candidates only:

    • National Salary range (Excluding NY and DC) - $63,655- $90,906

    • New York Salary Range - $75,605- $108,007

    • Washington DC Salary Range - $73,180- $104,542
