Quipu Market is a community e-commerce for informal micro-businesses to buy and sell locally without using money, while building creditworthiness. We solve the lack of money liquidity in low-income communities by creating a local token system, backed by the production of the users, that enables trade even when they don’t have enough money. By digitizing the offline, informal economies, we are able to record daily micro-transactions between people living in slums - 25% of the world’s urban population-. Quipu uses spending patterns data to assess creditworthiness and unlock access to equitable financial services.
