Who You Are

What does that mean? It means we make awesome and intricate quality parts for amazing clients, and we are looking for a Quality Manager/CMM Inspector that brings a level of expertise capable of taking the QC/QA Dept. to the next level. The shop typically runs a 5-day work week on a 17-hour operation, but this position would follow office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Due to the nature of the parts and the clients we manufacture for, United States Citizenship or Green Card holder status is required for all employees, so make sure you can provide proof of either. Additionally, a felony conviction is grounds for disqualification, and cellphones, cameras, or other devices capable of recording, storing, or transferring of data are prohibited on the shop floor (lockers are available).

What You'll Do

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Able to comprehend drawings and specifications of parts.
  • Understand and demonstrate knowledge of AS9100/ AS9102 Aerospace requirements.
  • Accurately perform quality inspections using instrumentation to ensure all specs are within tolerance. This includes surface plate inspections, visual inspections and reviewing conformance of data.
  • Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other inspection devices.
  • Exhibit attention to detail, particularly with fit and finish.
  • Perform First Article inspection, In Process audits/inspections, receiving inspections and Final Inspections for Aerospace machined parts.
  • Assist in workspace cleanliness and general organization of materials and documentation.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all customer information.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards as outlined by company policy and procedures.
  • Ability to listen to and carefully follow instructions.
  • Ability to accurately, and legibly, record data on various production logs & spreadsheets.
  • Troubleshoot anomalies, problem-solve, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Time management and attendance.
  • This is a short list of the general duties and responsibilities required, however other duties, responsibilities, instructions, or requests may be assigned by supervisors/management.
  • Must be able to understand and perform first articles in AS9102 format.

The work environment described herein is representative of what an employee encounters while performing the function of this job.

  • Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level is usually loud.
  • Employees are required to use personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and company uniform shirts that are provided).
  • Reports to Quality Manager and President

What You Bring

The qualifications listed above and below are representative of what is necessary to successfully excel at this position.

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language:

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

Mathematics:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Experience:

  • Minimum three to five years of experience and/or training is preferred, however those who are mechanically inclined, show positive attitudes, have team-player mentality, and take initiative to improve their skillset and abilities will be considered. Experience in programming and operating a Brown & Sharpe CMM with the latest PC DMIS software.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Stand for extended periods of time, walk from machine to machine, and reach with arms and hands.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or otherwise manipulate machines, parts, tools, and instruments.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
