ABOUT THE POSITION, as the Program Manager role is located in the Playworks Pacific Northwest region reporting to the Associate Program Director. In the role of Program Manager, you will assist in the planning and implementation of Playworks’ comprehensive school-based play and youth development programming. You will train and oversee Program Coordinators and Program specialists (direct service on-site program staff), maintain strong relationships with school partners, partner with the regional trainers and Site Coordinators and other staff to develop new training for program staff, and facilitate the implementation of any new or modified programming. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the Associate Program Director.

Specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with the regional, hub, and national teams to oversee Playworks’ programs, planning and implementing school-based programming at elementary school sites.
  • Manage and support 2-6 Direct service providers.
  • Conduct regular program observations & data reviews to ensure high-quality programming.
  • Support direct reports with tracking hours, organizing, and participating in program events as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with school leadership regarding program implementation, program quality, scheduling of training and site visits, and other relevant information.
  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Develop, organize, and facilitate Playworks related and personal staff trainings.
  • In partnership with the Associate Program Director, responsible for renewal of school partnerships.
  • Perform evaluations of direct service staff and oversee curriculum implementation during the school year to ensure fulfillment of expectations and responsibilities.
  • Serve as interscholastic/developmental sports league coordinator and contact person and serve as staff liaison to external league stakeholders which includes additional evening hour (when necessary and applicable)
  • Support the recruitment and hiring process for new program direct service staff.
  • Represent Playworks at events and support activities and training as needed.
  • Document and photograph programs that the Region will share via newsletters, social media, and website.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to program management (data collection, paperwork, etc.) and additional areas as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of two years experience in a professional position, preferably in a non-profit youth development organization.
  • Previous responsibility for direct reports in a supervisory capacity.
  • Daily access to reliable transportation. This position will require travel to various regional locations, including school sites that may be widely dispersed throughout the city/region.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and G Suite. Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with different teams across the organization.
  • Proven ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of different audiences.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize work, as well as work independently with little supervision as well as within a team setting.

  • Competitive nonprofit salary of $57,100. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the Associate Program Director.

Other things you need to know:

  • This position will require travel to various regional locations roughly 10-12 days every month.
  • If a Playworks employee is required to drive a vehicle for work-related purposes (not commuting purposes) the employee must complete an authorization form and provide us with evidence of valid, current driver's license and proof of liability/collision/property damage insurance with minimum coverage of $50,000 each accident/ $100,000 each occurrence.
  • Requires flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.

Typical Physical & Mental Demands: Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping, and stretching, and eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, and other office equipment. This position requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand for extended periods at times; walk on a school site in various weather conditions; to climb stairs at some sites; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist, and, dependent on assignment the employee may occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
