Development Marketing Associate

ABOUT THE POSITION, in the role of Marketing Associate you will assist the marketing department with implementing both nationwide and community specific marketing campaigns and activities. This is a part-time, hourly (approximately 20-30 hours a week), remote role with the Playworks Midwest team (IN, IL, WI, or MN), that reports to the Director of Development-Midwest

Location: Remote within IN, IL, WI, or MN

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Development (70%)

  • Write weekly blog articles for each region
  • Draft content for regional monthly newsletters
  • Create and post regional social media content
  • Engage with our followers and pages we are following on social media
  • Write and design the annual personalized stewardship report for $1,000+ donors
  • Write and design the annual regional impact report
  • Draft and update regional pages of the web
  • Draft and update marketing collateral across mediums for both development and partnership initiatives
  • Maintain a social media calendar and support the creation of social media content across channels in collaboration with each regional lead.
  • Assist with special projects such as developing public-facing and internal resources in promotion of the Playworks brand.

Marketing Operations (30%)

  • Support colleagues across regions by responding to marketing focused help desk requests.
  • Compile, organize, and update marketing resources to ensure cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Support cross-functional and cross-geography collaboration efforts, including but not limited to creating systems and resources to support emerging leaders in marketing across hubs, digital product development and marketing, sales, fundraising, and executive leadership.
  • Lead data clean-up projects for Salesforce fields related to marketing among regional staff.
  • Support the emerging strategies of the Playworks marketing team through strong collaboration.

Other duties may be assigned. Playworks is a constantly evolving organization and we expect this position to evolve with it.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • A demonstrable understanding of and passion for marketing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to produce a quality product in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Comfort with a playful workplace culture
  • Passionate commitment to Playworks’ mission and vision to improve outcomes for children and schools
  • Experience with any of the systems we use such as the Google Suite, WordPress, Marketo, Salesforce, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This is a part-time, 20 to 30 hours per week, non-exempt position, with an hourly rate of $30 per hour.
