Position Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director of Advancement, the Senior Manager of Development Operations will strengthen Wolfe’s Neck Center’s growing development initiatives, which include annual giving, major donor program, corporate partnerships, grants, membership, events, and planned giving. This role is integral to the success of these initiatives by tracking and maintaining accurate, detailed information and implementing processes and practices that support the cultivation of relationships with key stakeholders.. With primary oversight and management of Wolfe’s Neck Center’s customer relationship management database (CRM), Salesforce, the Senior Manager of Development Operations is responsible for maintaining records with a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy to support development activities, including producing reports and analytics that provide important data to measure efficacy of tactics and strategies, and to inform decisions. This role will create and maintain policies and procedures that promote quality donor data and data integrity and take proactive leadership in making system recommendations that promote efficient flow of donor information to appropriate users. The Senior Manager will manage gift processing, including recommendations for software solutions and implement a best-in-class donor acknowledgment process, and serve as the primary liaison with the Finance Team for ongoing reporting and reconciliation. As part of the development team, this role will also support the annual appeal by producing accurate prospect lists and other reports. This position also organizes annual fund activities and assists in the production of donor communications.
Responsibilities
- Oversee use of Salesforce, including maintaining data integrity and accuracy, generating reports, mailing and donor lists, and tracking event attendance, pledges, grants, gift records.
- Inform Salesforce changes and upgrades to support is expanded use across the organization to better manage shared relationships. Manage production process, budget, and schedule for both mail and digital annual appeal, including vendor management.
- Lead the process for tracking and acknowledging contributions.
- Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure that all revenue is classified correctly and reconciled on an ongoing basis, and to ensure storage of required documentation.
- Produce dashboards to track monthly and annual progress against budget targets for revenue.
- Coordinate month-end and annual year-end reconciliation activities with the Finance Team.
- Track key reporting deadlines in Salesforce and provide support in meeting deadlines.
- In coordination with the Communications Director, update and maintain our organizational profile on external fundraising sites and platforms.
- Steward recurring donor programs and ensure delivery of membership benefits.
- Provide support for Farm to Table dinners and events as needed by the team.
- Assist with the development of all appeal campaigns including online giving initiatives.
- Track cultivation and stewardship activities of donors and prospects.

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years experience working in the development operations of a nonprofit organization; experience with annual giving and major donors preferred.
- High degree of comfort with technology, including database management with expertise and high competency within NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) Salesforce, including gift processing, pulling financial and campaign reports, creating queries and other CRM functions.
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to define engagement metrics and assess donor data.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and is self-motivated with strong project management and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with high standards for accuracy and efficiency.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Work well both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Ensure highest level of “customer service” to internal and external constituents.
- Other duties and special projects as identified.
