What is Novelly?

Novelly is a nonprofit digital publisher amplifying diverse youth voices. We’re building the world’s first library of diverse literature written by and for youth and hosting youth-led courageous conversations about those stories all in one digital platform. We’ve been funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and AT&T. By joining Novelly, you’re joining a young team of passionate and creative individuals who believe that great storytelling can change the world.

Who are we looking for?

You're interested in stewarding Novelly into an exciting new phase: scaling and sustainability. You're eager to apply your expertise in nonprofit governance, fundraising, finance, marketing, communications, and/or public relations to champion the idea of a "civic-minded book club for teenagers." As a youth-centered organization, we're looking for youth and adult allies from diverse backgrounds to join our Board of Directors.

What are the responsibilities?

Attend at least 2 out of 4 quarterly board meetings annually.
Give or Get: $1,000+ annually. Every board member would have a custom peer-to-peer fundraising page on Novelly’s Give Lively account and the deadline would be the end of each calendar year.
Attend at least 2 signature Novelly events annually.
Mentor and advise Novelly staff on both long-term strategy and organizational history.
Stay up-to-date on the Novelly board communications via email.
Serve as a champion for Novelly’s work.
