About the Role

Reporting to the global COO, the Operations Manager is an experienced project manager, responsible for project planning, management, and execution around both internal operations and external accelerator operations. The Operations Manager is proactive, strong in event planning, has strong attention to detail, and is good at connecting the dots. The ideal candidate knows how to bring diverse people together to accomplish a common goal and enjoys facilitating large meetings and events.

This is an exciting opportunity to help drive innovation and social equity into New Energy Nexus’s international programming. This position is remote, but preferably based in the CET or similar time zones and offers competitive nonprofit salaries and benefits.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Operations Project Management (50%)

  • Responsible for project managing the Objectives & Key Results Planning Cycle year-round by ensuring all internal stakeholders are consulted and informed on processes and deadlines.
  • Project manage NEX Quarterly All Hands by ensuring all the relevant speakers are contacted, informed, and prepare the slide deck and internal communication around the event to ensure maximum participation. Generate fresh ideas and iterate to keep All Hands lively and engaging.
  • Facilitate our Leadership Circle meetings, including agenda preparation and coordination. Leadership Circle is composed of all Directors of our Chapters that run entrepreneur support programs across the world. Support the COO in project managing our annual Leadership Summit for all Directors at NEX.
  • Supports the Executive Team on the backend of the Organization Decisions Team, our Directors from the global administration team (we call the platform).
  • Responsible for calendaring internal global meetings such as Leadership Circle (and its various subcommittees), All Hands, J.E.D.I Council, and Organization Decision Team meetings.
  • Support the COO with internal communications, bulletins, announcements, and other communications.
  • Support the COO with additional special projects as they arise.

External Accelerator Operations Management (50%)

  • Support our Communications team with tracking all open calls for startups through NEX chapters and manage a global accelerator calendar tracking all programming and events occurring worldwide.
  • Centralize data in Airtable by creating and maintaining a global pipeline of all accelerator applications.
  • Maintain and publish our portfolio on our website.
  • Project manage our annual event - the Accelerate Energy and Equity Summit.
  • Develop experiments emerging from Leadership Circle to cross-fertilize opportunities and grow initiatives, such as a global internship program, startup market access opportunities, and others as they arise.
  • Support the COO with additional special projects as they arise.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience facilitating large meetings.
  • Experienced in or comfortable learning new software tools such as Asana, G-suite, airtable, CultureAmp, and Slack
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, changing priorities, and timelines.
  • University degree relevant to the job description.
  • Ability to work independently for a global organization with different locations and time zones.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to a culture of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Passionate about clean energy startups and innovation.
  • Experience working in a global nonprofit organization.

Benefits

This is a full-time remote position based in the CET or corresponding time zones. Relocation assistance is not available. Compensation is competitive for the market the candidate is based in.
