New Classrooms Innovation Partners is an independent, national nonprofit organization that leverages classroom design, teacher talent, and technology to enable personalized learning for students throughout the U.S. Founded in 2011, New Classrooms designs models for instruction that challenge the traditional learning model and reimagine the role of educators, the use of time, the configuration of physical space, and the use of data and technology. New Classrooms’​ innovative instructional model Teach To One: Math provides high-quality lessons and dynamic curriculum customized to meet each student where they are at. Teach to One integrates large group, small group, and individual instruction in ways that enable students to learn skills and apply them in real-world contexts. In 2019, New Classrooms released a research paper that showcases how the Teach To One model can help improve learning outcomes and close learning gaps. The Iceberg Problem: How Assessment and Accountability Policies Cause Learning Gaps in Math to Persist Below the Surface....and What To Do About It is the organization’s first white paper that discusses current education assessment and accountability policies and shows the dramatic effects of unfinished learning. Prior to the development of Teach To One, New Classrooms cofounders Joel Rose and Chris Rush launched a pilot program called School of One aimed at improving the student learning experience within the New York City Public School system. School of One was named by TIME magazine as one of the best inventions of 2009.
