Core Responsibilities:
The Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) is a statewide public health initiative led by the Maine CDC, Data, Research and Vital Statistics office. Through surveys of women who have recently given birth, PRAMS gathers important information about experiences before, during, and after pregnancy. This data helps shape policies and programs that strengthen maternal and infant health across Maine and inform efforts nationwide.
As the PRAMS Coordinator, you will lead a program that informs how Maine supports mothers, infants, and families. You will guide the overall direction of PRAMS, securing funding, managing partnerships and contracts, ensuring the program operates effectively and efficiently, as well as support public health strategies with response to emerging public health concerns.
You will also:
• Respond to external researcher requests for PRAMS data and complete the requests timely.
• Conduct meetings with stakeholders and the PRAMS steering committee to guide program priorities.
• Lead planning and implementation of new phases of the PRAMS survey.
• Ensure data quality by reviewing by performing edits checks on data entry and outgoing mailing.
• Process new data once received by the federal CDC.
• Attend federal grantee meetings and participate in grantee calls.
• Develop informational materials displaying the data.
• Prepare annual Institutional Review Board submission materials to meet grant requirements.
• Adhere to protocol approved by Federal and State Institutional Review Board
• Conduct quarterly human subjects training with staff
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Public/Community Health, Health Administration, Health Sciences or Health Education; Public Administration, Government, Social Work, or a closely related field and three (3) years professional experience in the planning, development, coordination and/or evaluation of health programs or services -OR- an equivalent seven (7) year combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred candidates will have:
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet federal and state deadlines and requirements with accuracy and accountability.
• Experience using SAS
• Proficient computer skills, including working with statistical software and data visualization tools, including creating clear graphs and charts
• Experience developing, refining, and implementing survey instruments and data collection tools.
