Status: Part Time Contracted Through March 2025

Location: Texas

Are you a creative individual who possesses a strong knowledge of math curriculum and a passion for reimagining math education? Are you interested in working with a team of talented individuals focused on developing innovative curriculum, instructional resources, and strategies designed to build agency and identity in mathematics for students? Are you committed to embracing the challenge of transforming math education, inspiring curiosity, creativity, confidence, and joy through content that engages students in authentic experiences in mathematics?

MIND Education is dedicated to research on learning, the brain, and developing effective math education programs, resources, and services. MIND's uniquely visual math education process engages the learner's spatial-temporal reasoning abilities to explain, understand, and solve multi-step problems. We are currently seeking an educator with curriculum development experience to join our Curriculum and Instruction Team to create a Texas version of our core math curriculum based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and revise math lessons that build student conceptual understanding
  • Create activities and materials for both print and online interactive platforms
  • Design experiences that adhere to the TEKS mathematics standards, mathematical processes, and research-based mathematical trajectories of learning
  • Maintain alignment with scope and sequences and product guidelines
  • Develop other resource materials as needed
  • Participate in collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Provide and receive feedback on your team’s work
  • Iterate lessons based on feedback
  • Be willing to adapt and adjust your thinking as you collaborate across the organization

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • At least 5 years experience teaching math in a K-5 setting
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Expertise in TEKS mathematical standards and processes
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to MIND’s mission to mathematically equip all students to solve the world’s most challenging problems
  • Humility and commitment to continual learning

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in Texas
  • Experience developing core math curriculum for Texas
  • Experience with ST Math
  • Experience designing assessments
  • Instructional coaching experience in mathematics
  • Single subject math credential (e.g., elementary math specialist)
  • National Board Certification

This part-time position (up to 25 hours a week) is part of the Curriculum and Instruction Team. This role requires residency in Texas, but you will be working remotely. As long as you don't mind turning on your webcam to build a rapport, even from a distance.
