About the Role:
The primary mission of the founding Business Development Representative (BDR) is to identify and generate new customer leads to hire our amazing learners. At Merit America, our customers are employers who hire our alumni into family-sustaining jobs. Most employers who hire our alumni today are large enterprise companies, but we will also be testing mid-market and startup companies.
The BDR is an exempt role and will report to the Head of Sales and work primarily with the Employer Partnerships team at Merit America. A successful candidate will:
As the founding BDR at Merit America, this role will also have a unique opportunity to help design and create the systems and processes to develop our BDR function and keep our employer pipeline flowing.
What You’ll be Doing:
The responsibilities of the BDR will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Sourcing outbound prospects: use databases and networks for prospecting and sourcing hundreds of outbound leads every week through manual and automated flows to ensure a healthy pipeline of potential customers for sales
- Receiving inbound communications: respond to all inbound inquiries from prospects within a few hours to ensure timely engagement
- Qualifying prospects: use the BANT methodology (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) to vet and qualify prospects and connect Account Executives to qualified leads, ensuring we meet our sales and growth targets of $21M in ARR for 2023
- Maintain accurate data systems: enter and maintain organized and accurate data in Salesforce for all prospects and contacts

Must Haves:
- Knowledge of and experience with Salesforce, SalesLoft/Outreach, Zoominfo, Gong, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

- This position is full time: 4 days/week (Fridays are an operating day if there is a holiday closure during the week)

- Salary : $62,900 - $62,900
