Our programmatic efforts focus on three key topic areas: elections, crisis response and safe and inclusive media ecosystems. We have built a network of over 170 organizations in 45 countries across the Larger World (aka Global South).

Our open-source technology platform, Check, allows journalists, human-rights activists, and civil society organizations to manage and process thousands of submissions every month across multiple languages of misinformation circulating on closed messaging networks, such as WhatsApp. It is currently used by some of the world’s leading fact-checking and media organizations, such as India Today, Rappler, BOOM, Agencia Lupa, AFP, and others.

We seek a Partner Solutions Manager to serve as a link between our program and product teams, and to help expand our presence and partnerships in the Sub Saharan Africa region.

Responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Manage relationships with partners in East Africa/Sub Saharan Africa, and help expand Meedan’s regional partners network through building new partnerships and models for collaboration in Sub Saharan Africa and beyond.
  • Provide support to Sub Saharan Africa partners with administrative, programmatic and reporting needs to make sure they meet their project milestones.
  • Support partners using Meedan’s technology platform, Check, for ongoing and limited-scope projects and events, including election and research projects, training workshops, conferences and public events.
  • Attend regional events and conferences to represent Meedan (in-person and online).

Partner Solutions Management

  • Oversee and track the needs of Check partners and users, from team identification to onboarding; expansion and scaling.
  • Identify knowledge gaps among Check partners to create 'evergreen' content and resources that improve their use of the software.
  • Keep the Programs team up to date with upcoming Check features and act as their go-to resource to support them in responding to partners with technical issues.
  • Build a Check-user community as a pathway to maintaining the communication loop to and from our Check users (through webinars, 1-1, UX research).
  • Feed back collected Check user knowledge to our product and engineering teams.

Cross-organizational

  • Attend weekly Community Impact Program calls, Product calls, Meedan team calls, and other relevant cross-organizational calls.
  • Work with program managers on expanding the regional and Larger World network, contributing to Sub Saharan Africa’s presence in cross-regional events and projects.
  • Produce blog posts and other publications to help publicize Meedan’s work in Sub Saharan Africa.
  • Mentor and manage other program team members in the region, and beyond.
