The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a network of media partners across the United States as they engage in chatbot-facilitated journalism hosted on Meedan’s open-source software, Check.

The U.S. election project, Election Exchange, is a national coalition run in partnership with the International Center for Journalists to help voters find the information they need to meaningfully participate in the democratic process. Our goal is to equip partners and network members with deep, detailed knowledge of what communities across the country want to know and be able to apply those findings to coverage of the 2024 election cycle as well as to their overall strategic goals. Through the Election Exchange program, newsrooms will promote Meedan’s AI-powered chatbot software, Check, to uncover and address misinformation on private messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, and Facebook Messenger.

The Election Exchange Project Manager is responsible for analyzing and presenting coalition data trends, facilitating discussions between network members, and coordinating communication efforts for the coalition of newsrooms focused on gathering data-driven insights around the U.S. 2024 election. The Project Manager will ensure the effective dissemination of information, promote and host events, and engage regularly with coalition members and partners. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to support the coalition’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Present data findings to the coalition, either ahead of meetings or during them, depending on available resources
    • Promote events in advance and send follow-up reminders to coalition members.
  3. Communication and Promotion:
    • Publish blogs, white papers, social media content, or joint articles with the coalition on identified trends.
  4. On-platform Partner Relations:
    • Extract and share key observations about the U.S. election from Meedan’s network of global platform partners
    • Facilitate discussions on cross-border data trends and recommend enhancements to data collection and communication processes
    • Determine whether the cross-border information should be integrated into regular coalition briefings or handled separately, based on data quality.
    • Publish blogs, white papers, social media content, or joint articles with the coalition on cross-border trends.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Access and review data hosted in Meedan’s Check software to analyze the latest information trends coming in from network audience
    • Extract key observations and trends to share with the coalition
    • Prepare and present findings through slide decks, documents, or other suitable formats
    • Answer questions and facilitate discussions regarding data trends, and recommend improvements for data collection and communication

Other duties as assigned, as organizational needs and priorities dictate.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Data Science, Journalism, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in project management
