Lifebox is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to making surgery and anesthesia safer worldwide. Founded by the creators of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, Lifebox operates through tools, training, and partnerships to improve anesthesia safety, reduce surgical infections, and strengthen teamwork among healthcare providers. Since its inception in 2011, Lifebox has impacted over 248 million surgeries, trained more than 14,400 healthcare providers, and distributed 35,000 pulse oximeters across 116 countries. The organization is committed to addressing inequities in global surgery and enhancing the quality of care in low-resource settings, positioning itself as a leader in the field of surgical safety.
