Cultural Programs Manager

Position Overview

The Cultural Programs Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing community-centered cultural programs that advance Kinfolk Tech Foundation's mission. This position requires a creative, organized, and community-focused professional who can bridge cultural programming with partnership development, ensuring programs are both impactful and sustainable. The Cultural Programs Manager will work closely with the Head of Partnerships and Cultural Programs, the Creative Producer, and the Digital Storytelling Manager to deliver exceptional experiences that engage diverse communities both virtually and in-person.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Implementation

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of community programs including workshops, educational walking tours, teach-ins, and other cultural initiatives

  • Create culturally responsive programming that centers community voices and honors diverse perspectives

  • Manage both virtual and in-person program delivery, ensuring accessibility and engagement across formats

  • Continuously evaluate and iterate on programs based on community feedback, impact data, and product alignment

  • Oversee the Community Voice, a project to document and preserve the stories of local community members

Partnership Development & Community Building

  • Support local community partnership cultivation, identifying and building relationships with aligned organizations, cultural institutions, and community leaders

  • Foster solidarity-building across communities and movements

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships that expand program reach and impact

  • Represent Kinfolk Tech Foundation at community events, convenings, and partnership meetings

Facilitation & Network Management

  • Support the facilitation of workshops and community gatherings

  • Oversee and support a network of local program facilitators, providing logistics support with program coordination, supplies and training

  • Ensure consistency and quality across facilitator-led programs while honoring local context and creativity

Operations & Administration

  • Manage program logistics and coordination, maintaining organized systems in Asana for task management and project tracking

  • Develop and support programmatic budgets for approval by the Head of Partnerships and Cultural Programs

  • Coordinate scheduling, vendor relations, venue management, and other operational details

  • Maintain accurate program records, participant databases, and documentation

Communications & Impact

  • Collaborate with the Digital Storytelling Manager to amplify programs through compelling narratives and strategic communications

  • Support impact reporting by collecting survey data, and sharing testimonials, and documenting program outcomes

  • Contribute to grant reports, annual reports, and other communications that showcase program impact

Qualifications

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in cultural programming, community organizing, arts administration, or related field

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing community-centered programs

  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders

  • Experience cultivating partnerships and managing collaborative projects

  • Proficiency with project management tools (Asana experience preferred)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Budget management experience

  • Commitment to racial equity, social justice, and community-centered practice

Preferred

  • Experience in nonprofit arts, cultural heritage, or social justice organizations

  • Facilitation skills and experience training facilitators

  • Knowledge of digital engagement strategies and virtual programming

  • Experience with monuments, public art, or cultural heritage projects

  • Familiarity with participatory program design and community co-creation

  • Connections to communities served by Kinfolk Tech Foundation

  • Lived experience with the communities and issues central to our work
