Job Information

Our team is looking to welcome a mature, motivated, mission-driven Project Manager : Climate and Health to join Khushi Baby

About the Climate and Health Project:

  • As climate change intensifies, heatwaves, air pollution, vector-borne diseases, and extreme weather events pose a growing threat to public health in India. However, health systems remain ill-equipped to predict and mitigate these risks due to data fragmentation, poor surveillance, and a lack of actionable insights.
  • To address this, Khushi Baby is developing the Climate Health Vulnerability Index (CHVI)—a pioneering digital tool that integrates climate exposure, population sensitivity, and adaptive capacity to assess climate-health risks at the community level.Through CHVI, we aim to:
  • Support data-driven policy recommendations for climate-health adaptation.
  • Enhance government disease surveillance programs to integrate climate-sensitive indicators.
  • Develop early warning systems for climate-driven health threats such as heat stress, air pollution-related illnesses, and vector-borne disease
  • The CHVI model is designed to be scalable, interoperable with national health databases, and aligned with the State Action Plan on Climate Change and Health (SAPCCH). Our goal is to ensure health officials at the state and district levels have the necessary tools to anticipate climate-health risks, allocate resources effectively, and implement targeted interventions.
  • As part of this initiative, we are expanding our team and seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to lead strategic project execution, research coordination, stakeholder engagement, and donor reporting. This is an opportunity to contribute to one of India’s first large-scale climate-health digital tools, shaping policy, research, and action at the intersection of climate change and public health

About You:

  • You are a development professional with a strong drive to tackle public health inequities in India, particularly at the intersection of climate and health. You thrive in high-performing teams that are focused on delivering innovative, results-oriented solutions for last-mile communities and government health officials.
  • You are a committed self-starter with a track record of independent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement. You have experience working at a leading nonprofit, multilateral organization, public health institute, or international development consultancy, and you are eager to translate complex climate-health challenges into practical, scalable interventions.
  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities across data, policy, and implementation teams. You enjoy working in dynamic environments where you can collaborate with health officials, funders, and technical experts while also ensuring that projects are executed with precision and impact.

Preferred Experience & Educational Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Anthropology, Communications, Government and International Relations, Public Health Policy, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MPH, MSc, MPP, MPA) is highly desirable
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years or 5–8 years of relevant work experience, including at least one year in a managerial role within a nonprofit, multilateral organization, public health institute, or consulting firm.
      • Competitive pay based on years of experience.
    • Consulting experience in the social impact space is highly desirable.
    • Prior experience in climate and health, digital health, health policy, or research-driven projects is an advantage.
