THE ROLE

Khan Academy is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Operations Specialist to join our Finance Team with big aspirations to deliver exceptional service to our organization and stakeholders. The Revenue Operations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the sales to payment process for our customers and ensuring the accuracy of incoming payments and accounts receivable from our district customers and donors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Oversee the sales to payment process for our district and partnership customers
  • Coordinate with the External Relations Team to create and modify invoices when necessary, ensuring effective and standardized billing for customers
  • Manage and improve effective collection processes with customers by communicating directly with customers regarding any aspect of the billing process
  • Collect the incoming cash data from various sources including the bank accounts, several payment processors and donation portals and record the data into our Accounting system
  • Oversee data alignment process with CRM system (Salesforce) and Accounting System (Intacct) and work closely with External Relations to resolve any discrepancies
  • Resolve issues or inquiries from External Relations Team regarding the billing and payment questions
  • Monitor and resolve any issues from our payment processors
  • Responsible for month-end close activities for incoming cash and accounts receivable by ensuring they are aligned with the bank statements and CRM system
  • Collaborate with other team members to create and update process documentation
  • Assist with financial report preparation regarding incoming cash and receivables.
  • Provide the revenue related financial audit reports in the PBC list
  • As part of a small team, provide backup and support to team members as necessary.
  • Contribute to other projects as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • More than 5 years of experience in managing the nonprofit revenue data.
  • Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of others, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization
  • A four year degree with more than five years of non-profit operational and revenue experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel functions and an ability to process large data sets in Excel
  • More than three years of working experience in CRM and/or financials systems, such as Salesforce and data entry
  • More than three years of working experience in overseeing the activities of multiple payment processors
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves mindset as part of a small and mighty Finance Team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • High level of ethics, integrity, transparency, and trustworthiness
  • Strong capability to work remotely and commute to our Mountain View office once a week

At Khan Academy we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, the well-being of our employees, and our Khan community. This belief is why we have built out a robust Total Rewards package that includes competitive base salaries, and extensive benefits and perks to support physical, mental, and financial well-being.

The compensation band for this role is $77,600 - $87,300 USD annually for candidates based in the United States. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data. Additional incentives are provided as part of the complete total rewards package, in addition to comprehensive medical and other benefits.
