Khan Academy Brazil aims to deliver a world class user experience to learners that is locally relevant with content, programs, and resources for teachers, schools, and districts. Our platform is a supplemental educational digital resource that offers interactive activities based on mastery-based learning for K-12 grades covering Math, Portuguese, and Science, all aligned to BNCC. We serve more than 6 million learners across our websites, apps and youtube channels and our goal is to scale the impact of our platform by focusing on partnerships with public districts in Brazil.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Khan Academy Brazil is seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to fill the role of Brazil Professional Learning Manager. As part of our state implementation programs, we provide professional development support to teachers, teacher mentors, and administrators to implement Khan Academy in classrooms. Applicants should be passionate about delivering highly quality professional learning experiences to secondary school educators and administrators through virtual and in-person experiences. Applicants should have a background in teaching, coaching teachers and administrators, delivering professional development, analyzing data, and developing professional learning experiences and resources for educators.

This individual thinks creatively about how to adjust the format, content & tone of professional learning sessions for various audiences and mediums, including in-person, live virtual, and on-demand recordings . This individual will play a critical role in delivering world-class professional learning experiences for educators implementing Khan Academy in classrooms in Brazil.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Personally deliver engaging, high-quality live and recorded professional development experiences to educators. Ensure training drives changes in teacher & administrator practices.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers to customize professional learning resources to meet the specific goals of State partners.
  • Recommend and schedule professional development sessions with state partners
  • Continuously improve professional development content and structure by observing sessions led by others, analyzing survey responses & leading reflection sessions.
  • Manage the upkeep and content creation for teachers and administrators to enhance their implementation.
  • Leverage data recommendations to coach teachers on instructional implications and actions to impact student learning.

ABOUT YOU

You would be a great fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience – 3+ years experience teaching math in a K-12 setting or 2+ years of experience as a school site or district-level administrator in a K-12 setting
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional coaching designing and delivering professional development sessions and strong understanding of adult learning theory
  • Experience using Khan Academy in the classroom with students (preferred)
  • World-class training skills, including exceptional communication and presentation skills and strong coaching skills, including the ability to coach and mentor existing and new facilitators
  • Experience developing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative feedback & survey data in order to inform changes to individual & team strategies
  • Excellent organizational skills - ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, from start to finish
  • Strong project management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, including a high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation and a bias toward action
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and project management and productivity platforms
  • Residency or willingness and ability to relocate to São Paulo, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role
  • Portuguese and English proficiency
  • Permission to work in Brasil
