InnovateEDU is a national nonprofit focused on catalyzing education transformation by bridging gaps in data, policy, practice, and research to center the needs of the field in accelerating innovation towards an equitable, inclusive, and radically different future for all learners. InnovateEDU projects are organized under three portfolios: policy, technology, and sector capacity building.

InnovateEDU is currently seeking a Project Director to oversee the Educating All Learners Alliance (EALA) project. The EALA Project, alongside the Pathways Alliance, resides under the Sector and Capacity Building Portfolio. This role will report directly to the Managing Director of the Sector and Capacity Building Portfolio.

About the Educating All Learners Alliance

As districts, educators, students, and families continue to adjust to a variety of learning environments, the needs of students with disabilities are too often put on the backburner—instead, they must be considered from the beginning. Family communication, online instruction, needs assessment, and data tracking and analytics are each stronger and more effective when they are designed to meet the needs of all learners.

The Educating All Learners Alliance (EALA) is an uncommon coalition of 150+ organizations committed to resource-sharing and community-building that supports the efforts of the education community to meet the needs of all students, especially students with disabilities. The Alliance represents voices from a diverse range of communities, including disability advocacy, parent, special education, civil rights, and K-12 nonprofit education organizations. EALA leads the development of a Resource Library, Tech Tool Library, webinars and podcasts, and community-based initiatives, showing a pathway to possible in the challenges and opportunities surrounding students with disabilities in K12 education.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as an external spokesperson and internal subject matter expert for the project area of focus; maintain a robust and up-to-date knowledge of sector trends, best practices, key players, etc.
  • Support the project strategy development alongside the Managing Director; recommend opportunities to increase project impact through internal collaborations, external partnerships, thought leadership, communications, etc.
  • Manage grant deliverable completion for the project, including creating and executing timely deliverable plans via Asana with support from Project Associates
  • Lead the development of the communications plans for the project, including thought leadership, conference, webinar, podcast, and stakeholder messaging to continually elevate the project’s brand and visibility
  • Lead the development of at least eight conference proposals a year
  • Develop at least four written thought leadership pieces per year to be published externally via Linkedin, media outlets, or partner communication channels
  • Generate engaging written or multimedia content, including reports, case studies, and initiative releases as needed
  • Lead project meeting and event planning to meet or exceed the expectations of project grant deliverables

Compensation

Consistent with our diversity, equity, and inclusion statement, we strive to address systemic pay gaps often present in our larger society due to gender, identity, or sexual orientation. All candidates are pay scaled by an independent third-party service or application, which calculates the market rate for the applicant based on skills and qualifications, job duties, market conditions within the applicant's location, education, and experience. This position’s compensation range is $75,000-$95,000. InnovateEDU full-time employees receive paid vacation and sick leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, and other standard benefits. This position may require up to 15% travel in the United States.
