Rate: CAD 28 per hour
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week (must be able to work between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST)

Overview:
The Mentorship Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the mentoring program, which supports mentees by providing support and pairing them with external mentors. The Coordinator ensures program quality and effectiveness through recruiting, screening, matching, monitoring, and closing the mentor-mentee relationships. Additionally, the Coordinator maintains communication with both mentors and mentees throughout the mentorship relationship and provides support as required.

Duties And Responsibilities
Mentor & Mentee Recruitment & Onboarding
- Enhancing and overseeing the implementation of an ongoing mentor recruitment plan including the development of annual recruitment and quarterly activity plans, development and distribution of program marketing materials, presentations to targeted organizations and ensuring a presence at key community events
- Ensuring timely response and support to mentor and mentee inquiries and concerns
- Implementing program policies and procedures for the mentor and mentee screening ensuring the safety and confidentiality of program participants
- Collaborate with other departments during partnership discussion advocating mentees’ welfare and concerns.
- Supervise the participation of mentors and mentees in the mentoring program
- Manage the planning and implementation of mentor and mentee group events and activities that include capacity building opportunities for mentors
- Plan and implement retention strategies and recognition activities for program participants
- Implement a regular check-in schedule with mentors and mentees and make referrals to other IFA programming and wrap-around services
- Coordinates the administration of IFA’s program evaluation activities for the mentoring program and guides relationship closure
- Maintain records of the mentoring program and its participants
- Develop and manage relationships with corporations, partners and community-based organizations to support mentor and mentee recruitment and program implementation
- Build a strong working relationship with staff, volunteers and committee members
- Maintain and update the program’s policy, procedure and program manual as needed
- Attend conferences and trainings to increase knowledge of research and evidence-based practices in mentoring, trauma-informed care and volunteer management
- Coordinate and collaborate with various teams
- Complete other duties and support other departments and initiatives as needed
- Facilitate virtual sessions using the Zoom platform
The following are considered vital job qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the not-for-profit, educational and social work sectors.
- Proven working experience in project management.
- Knowledge and experience on Indigenous ways of knowing and knowledge systems.
- Candidates must have experience working with and for Indigenous communities.
- Creativity — able to think of new ways to engage participants.
- Strong facilitation skills in digital learning environments.
- Leadership skills to coach teachers on effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties.
- Computer/mobile skills (Social Media, Email, Microsoft Office).
- Commitment to the organization's mission and strategic directions.
- Openness to learning.
