Posted on Thursday, May 30, 2024

Summary of Role: Impact Network International, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Curriculum Specialist Consultant to join our team supporting primary education in rural Zambia for a 6-12 month role. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of our educational programs alongside our eLearning program implementation. While we would prefer someone based in Katete, Zambia, we are open to considering a remote role.

What We Do

Impact Network believes every child deserves access to a quality education. We make this happen for 6,000 students across 40 schools in rural Zambia using technology, an activity-based curriculum, and comprehensive coaching. Early findings from our randomized controlled trial show strong results on improving literacy and numeracy.

In 2024, we are embarking on the exploration of additional open source eLearning content to supplement our ongoing programs. This is to prepare for the scale-up of our programs to 40 new schools in 2025. Additionally, we are working with an exciting new strategic partnership that will see us expand into new geographies, support secondary education programs; and reach significantly more children with quality education than ever before.

What You Will Do

Designing and revising curriculum materials:

● Work closely with our Education Specialist and strategic partner to align curriculum with the national syllabus in Zambia as well as the local context

● Find and curate new resources and materials for teachers to use in their classrooms, ensuring they have access to high-quality educational materials.

● Work with eLearning and blended learning tools in low-resource settings to leverage technology effectively.

Support teacher development in the use of curriculum resources:

● Conduct workshops and training sessions to equip teachers with the skills needed to implement eLearning and blended learning effectively.

● Support teacher coaching and professional development to enhance their instructional skills and confidence in using new technologies.

● Work with teachers to understand the impact of curricula changes and improve program effectiveness, explicitly looking at data and student-level outcomes.

Partner with educational stakeholders to integrate innovative practices

● Work in partnership with the operations team managing the technological aspects of our eLearning program

● Support relationship-building with local education representatives to ensure alignment with national education standards and policies.

● Help build capacity of our team as well as other partners in the field to build learner-centered methods into teaching practice.
