Scientific Collaborator / Teaching Assistant

50%, Zurich, fixed-term

We are looking for a Scientific Collaborator / Teaching Assistant to join our team at ETH Zürich from July 2026 or by agreement.

As part of the team, you will contribute to teaching and course preparation, including giving inputs and tutorials, organizing lectures, facilitating discussions, and supporting the writing and editing of academic and teaching-related texts.

Project background

Studio Maria Conen

The Chair of Architecture and Housing approaches architecture as an ecological, social, and material practice shaping forms of living together. It addresses climate adaptation, resource cycles, and housing as a relational system embedded within landscape, water, and infrastructure.

The Chair develops architecture as a mediating discipline, where spatial, material, and environmental logics converge. Through design and research, housing is understood as an interconnected, multi-scalar construct that integrates regenerative design, circular processes, and the interplay between natural and built systems. A particular focus lies on water as a spatial and formative driver, alongside a continuous exploration of form as a means to address these questions.

Through teaching, research, and collaboration, the Chair fosters experimental design practices grounded in observation, making, and critical reflection, aiming to produce a precise and strong design for contemporary habitation.
