What we do:
Hopebound works to revolutionize access to mental health support for young people from historically marginalized communities. Hopebound ensures adolescents, centering those with marginalized identities, receive the accessible, high-quality, culturally competent, and child-centered mental health care they deserve. We utilize emerging master’s and doctoral level clinicians as our providers, many of whom share the background of our youth, and focus on providing them with expert training to ensure that the low cost of their services does not translate to a lower quality of care.
The role:
Hopebound is seeking a dynamic and organized Development Manager to support our growing organization. This role will focus on development operations, event and campaign management, communications & marketing, and general nonprofit operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. We are looking for a Development Manager who is organized, proactive, a self-starter, and capable of handling and independently taking on administrative tasks, like scheduling, preparing materials for meetings, etc.. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
Remote and in-person work balance:
The ideal candidate will be located within the Atlanta metro area. Most weeks, the Hopebound team works remotely three days a week and in person in our Atlanta office space two days a week. The entire team also meets in person twice a month. For candidates outside of the area, quarterly travel to Atlanta would be expected for in-person team-wide meetings and other pertinent convenings.
Key responsibilities:
Development Operations (25%)
- Manage donor data, ensuring accurate records and timely acknowledgments.
- Support fundraising efforts by preparing donor communications, tracking pledges, and assisting with grant applications.
- Manage and implement the discovery pipeline process for the team to ensure the ongoing identification and qualification of new major donors and prospects. Conduct initial research and collaborate with the ED and others on engaging potential donors and prospects.
- Coordinate with the Executive Director to identify funding opportunities and manage cultivation strategies.
Event & Campaign Management (25%)
- Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and community engagement initiatives.
- Develop event timelines, budgets, and logistics plans.
- Coordinate event marketing, including digital campaigns, social media outreach, and partnership communications.
Marketing and Communications (25%)
- Develop and produce engaging content for various platforms, including web, social media, email, and print.
- Oversee and manage social media channels, ensuring consistent branding and engaging content.
- Provide direct support to communication partners as needed
Executive Director Support (25%)
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparation in relation to current and potential funders.
- Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and materials for internal and external meetings.
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional administrative training or certification is a plus.
- Proven experience (ideally 3 - 5 years) in an administrative or coordinator role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with great attention to detail.
- Proficiency and experience in Google Suites (Google drive, docs, sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure while managing multiple priorities, with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt, a ‘customer service’ forward attitude for Hopebound staff and constituents.
- Passion for our mission and dedication to Hopebound's values.
- An ability to collaborate with staff and consultants in a remote environment across different locations and time zones.
- Aptitude for managing up to senior leaders with diverse working and communication styles.
- Experience utilizing technology as a primary form of communication and project management.
